“This is the dilemma of the #Uganda-n child born between the late 80s and the 90s: a generation raised on the promise of infinite hope anchored on the heroism of a [guerilla] savior, or what I like to call a ‘political daddy’.”

People hooked on AI psychosis are crashing out because Google removing its AI Overview is a reminder that the AI hype isn’t invincible and that these companies can, in fact, fail.

Sometimes a tweet is so succinct, so true, so utterly bleak, you just want to ...repost it.

Call me whatever you want, but I believe a society's goal should be to secure the highest quality of life and happiness for its citizens, not to endlessly generate capital for the ownership class at everyone else's expense.

Reason I find nice men tedious is bc all their niceness is a performance hitched on your receptiveness, lack of which, they become sth different. I love me a decent man.He is who he is outside of your gaze.He might be extra sweet to you bc he likes you,but his base is decency.

I just saw a post that said,
to blame feminism for the unhappiness of the modern man
is to admit that men's happiness
depended on the continued oppression of women. Ha!
To develop a participation disinterest in the status quo structures one was formerly enticed by is to have unlocked a higher level of awareness.
No liberation struggle should be ‘owned’, or facilitated to the point of attribution, by a political power. Neither should the privileged groups within oppressive systems remain at the center of liberation theory and praxis.
If you’re still in the unpopular business of thinking critically, do yourself a favor and read Kalundi Serumaga’s work.

Amazing — Israeli actress Chelli Goldenberg accidentally tells the truth when she doesn’t realize she’s live on the air. (H/T @MintPressNews)

Please, I urge the world to take this tweet seriously.
Gaza is on the verge of facing another catastrophe. The rain is coming, and hundreds of thousands of families have no shelter to protect them.
Tens of thousands of tents line the seashore, where families have nowhere else to go. Hundreds of thousands of people are living among the ruins of destroyed homes that may not withstand heavy rain.
The tents we live in are torn and worn out. They were designed to provide temporary shelter for a few months, yet we have been living in them for three years. When the rain comes, water will pour into our tents, leaving children and sick people exposed to the cold and flooding, with no protection at all.
Why must we live in such constant fear? Why don't we deserve a normal life, a safe home, and a winter we don't have to dread? Why must our children face this same fate year after year?
Why must the world watch us drown every winter before taking action, instead of intervening now to prevent this catastrophe?
Talk about Gaza. Do not remain silent. We are not asking for the impossible. We are asking for our basic right to live in safety and dignity, without fearing the rain as much as we fear the war.

when neurotypical people forget that as an autistic person i literally have no sense of social hierarchy so im not afraid to say anything to anyone no matter 'high up' you are
The most Ugandan-coded thing is they don’t teach guys to question anything when they are young. The response to the first why a kid asks is meted out to ensure you never ask a second why. That’s why guys who question everything are treated as outlaws, but someone has to ask.

the thing abt “men aren’t allowed to cry” is that women aren’t really allowed to either. women get mocked and berated for crying, and their momentary tears are used to justify their exclusion from “serious” workplaces, environments and activities
