Being ready to collect #UAV data in #Miombos #Maputo #Mozambique #ScientificResearch #fieldscientist #sylvera # fieldwork
Article published on July 30, 2024!
We conducted this research in the Native Community of Bélgica, Puerto Maldonado (Peru-Brazil border).
This article shows how remote sensing helps identify areas disturbed by logging in lowland rainforests.

Presentamos los resultados de nuestra campaña de campo en #Mozambique - #África.
En este paper se muestra como los #miombos africanos contienen más carbono que lo pensado gracias al uso de #lidar a multiescala usando #drones y #helicópteros.

Leading the data collection of 50,000 ha with LiDAR in Africa was a significant achievement.
We have a new challenge in my native country🇵🇪.
I hope we get accurate knowledge of the biomass in the forests of Peru and be considered one of the most scanned forests worldwide 🤞.

This is a tree from our campaign in Peru 🇵🇪!
As a Peruvian, working on this project with Sylvera was superb!
It's amazing to see this tree, which reflects our hard work to get high-quality data.

Thank you @DamesofDrones!
.@beisitluz of @sylveracarbon uses drones to collect first-of-their-kind lidar data across thousands of hectares of forests (up to 15,000 pts/m2), to map carbon stocks in Gile National Reserve, Mozambique. bit.ly/3cFoYUI #WomeninDronesWednesday

We spent an inspiring week at @ForestSAT among researchers presenting the latest tech and ideas in forest spatial analyses. With @SylveraCarbon we had the chance to present our multi-scale lidar work to a critical audience 🧐 and discuss drones, ML, GEDI cal/val,...

If you are a #WomeninDrones or know someone using #drones for their work, let us know! Drop us a message or tag someone so we can highlight their amazing work on our weekly #WomeninDronesWednesday series!
Let's flow with Hermoso, our drone that helps us to build the world’s largest and most accurate dataset on carbon stored in natural ecosystems. #sylvera #drone #octocopter #mozambique #skyfront #scanningtrees #WomeninDrones #lidar #WomeninDronesWednesday
