mercy to the cruel is cruelty to the innocent
So you shall purge the evil from your midst
the rest shall hear and fear and shall never again commit any such evil among you
Your eye shall not pity
It shall be life for life
eye for eye
tooth for tooth
hand for hand
foot for foot

To the people telling me capital punishment is not a deterrent, here is what God says:
"Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid." -Deut. 21:21.
So if it's not a deterrent, it's because we don't carry it out swiftly, publicly, or consistently enough. Start doing that, it will be a deterrent.
well said Mike
I hope more conservative Christians get to voting. Here are two unnecessary obstacles I see preventing that. Then there is a third which I find hard to fix.
1. Perceived Powerlessness: The Christian feels that there's no point or that voting and taking action are basically ineffective so why bother. This is easily fixed as thinking of it as a stewardship before God, to contribute your vote and advocacy for love of neighbor as obedience to Christ rather than saying that if you can't singlehandedly change everything there's no need to bother yourself with it. Yes, your vote counts as faithfulness, which is what God asks of you.
2. Inability to Choose Suboptimal Candidates: This is just the way it is. It's not just a "lesser of two evils" choice but a "make things better than they otherwise would be" choice. When choosing a school for your kids you do it. When choosing where to live you do it. When choosing a church you do it. It is the nature of limited choices that causes us angst about non-optimal choices. Just make things better. I no longer ring my hands at this now that I see my job as not maintaining my own purity but as benefiting my neighbors the best I can within the available options.
3. Misinformation and Tribalism: Yeah. I don't currently know how to address this in a wide way. Do your research. Fact check the people you TRUST (that's probably the single best piece of advice I have). And try to keep your priorities in order. Still, those impacted by misinformation and tribalism will likely think it's only other people who have that problem. So, I reiterate, fact check the people you trust and not just by getting Grok to agree with you.
Vote like it matters.

Congratulations. You've discovered how everyone can retire at 50 by giving them approximately $2,420.
According to Forbes, the world's 3,428 billionaires possess a combined $20.1 trillion. Confiscate every penny, divide it among 8.3 billion people, and that's your one-time payout. And that's assuming you could liquidate everything without destroying its value.
For this magnificent achievement, you'd violate property rights, undermine investment, disrupt production, and slaughter the golden goose that generated the wealth in the first place.
And here's the part you haven't considered: that golden goose may take generations to reproduce, assuming anyone would even attempt it under a regime that confiscates the rewards.
The communist mentality resembles a cancer: consume the wealth of the host, demand more as the host weakens, and continue until there's nothing left to consume.
You've traded generations of potential prosperity for a few weeks of spending money, destroyed the incentives to rebuild, and called it liberation.
All because you confused possessing wealth with stealing it, and consuming wealth with creating it.

Daniel and I agree. The execution of Hasan should be done by females.
Most Islamic militants fear being killed by a woman because they believe it would prevent them from entering paradise and receiving the rewards associated with martyrdom.
So let the ladies step up 😁
Then other Islamic militants can’t look to Hasan as a martyr and want to emulate his crimes.
anyone who understands this case and countless others like it and still opposes the death penalty is evil
This is Gregory Green. In 1991, he stabbed his pregnant wife Tonya to death during an argument and then called 911 to report his crime. He was allowed to plead no contest to second degree murder and sentenced to 15-25 years in prison. While incarcerated, Gregory was a model prisoner, and with the support of pastor Fred Harris, he was paroled in 2008 after serving just 16 years.
After his release, Gregory married Fred Harris’ daughter, Faith, who had two children from a previous marriage. Faith and Gregory had two daughters together, but Gregory’s anger and aggression caused Faith to file for divorce in September of 2016. He sought revenge right away.
Before Faith could move out, Gregory tampered with his own car so that the exhaust was re-routed back into the car itself. Late one night, he took his two sleeping daughters, Koi (5) and Kaleigh (4) and put them in the car to suffocate before returning their bodies to their beds.
Gregory then attacked his wife, duct taping her to a chair in the basement before cutting her on both sides of her face from ears to chin and shooting her in the foot — but he wasn’t done. Marching his two teenage stepchildren downstairs at gunpoint, he shot them both in the head in front of their screaming mother before bringing the bodies of Koi and Kaleigh downstairs for her to see. Gregory then went calmly upstairs and — once again — called 911 to report what he’d done.
In spite of clear, indisputable evidence of premeditation, Gregory was allowed to plead guilty to four counts of second degree murder, torture, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and felony firearms violations. He was sentenced to 45-100 years in prison; although this was the second family he annihilated, he will be eligible for parole in just 47 years.
This is the second man I’ve profiled who murdered his family, got locked up, got out, had a second family, and then murdered them too. If even one woman had been allowed to do such a thing, you can bet your life that we’d never hear the end of it.
Ever hear of Gregory Green before today?

God literally said murderers must be executed because people are made in God’s image
Our appetite for and habituation to violence will be our society’s downfall.
Public executions don’t teach respect for human dignity and God’s image; they make violence a spectacle for public entertainment, and they corrupt the young and innocent. In modern America, there is no need for executions — they only breed vengeance, violence and dehumanization.
Satan loves this.

“I cheer the public execution of Charlie Kirk, but I want you to denounce the just execution of a terrorist.” -pretty much the entire left
The Old Testament executions for sin weren't livestreamed; in many places, the whole congregation actually TOOK PART in the execution. And we won't even talk about God wiping out whole nations in judgment for their sin.
And Joshua said, “Why did you bring trouble on us? The LORD brings trouble on you today.” And all Israel stoned him with stones. They burned them with fire and stoned them with stones.
— Joshua 7:25
is this true?
Im amazed this myth continue into the modern day.
She did nothing. She was a nepo hire who's boyfriend led the project. That giant stack of code she's famously standing next to was fully written before she had ever joined the project, she wasn't involved in any of it. She literally didn't join the project till the final few months after everything was done.
The funny part is there were women on the team who wrote parts of that code but 100% of the credit goes to "some guys girlfriend" because they wanted it that way.

Margaret Hamilton joined the Apollo project at MIT in 1965, years before the 1969 Moon landing, and led the team developing the Apollo onboard flight software. The code in the photo was produced by her and her team, not before she joined.

In the Bible executions were to be public. If it is a just execution, it doesn’t need to be private.

Monaco collects no income tax. Liechtenstein's corporate rate sits at 12.5%. These reflect deliberate policy choices by governments small enough to feel the immediate consequences of driving capital away.
Small states cannot afford to be predatory. A large country like France can tax its productive class into emigration and still run on bureaucratic momentum for decades before the rot fully surfaces. Monaco has 2.1 square kilometers. Drive out your wealth creators on a Tuesday, and you notice it by Thursday. This constraint forces discipline that large states never face.
The second mechanism is competition. When Liechtenstein offers low taxes, genuine rule of law, and strong property protections, capital flows toward it from Germany, France, and Italy, countries where politicians treat your earnings as a communal resource they generously allow you to partially keep. Mobile capital and mobile talent vote with wire transfers and residence permits. The European principalities win those votes constantly.
Secure property rights do the rest. When entrepreneurs trust that contracts hold and confiscation stays illegal, they plan long-term, invest, build. Liechtenstein's per capita GDP exceeded $180,000 in 2024. Monaco's residents hold median wealth that dwarfs most European capitals. Neither state built that through natural resources. They built it by leaving productive people alone.
The formula is genuinely simple: low taxes, sound institutions, enforceable contracts, no appetite for redistribution theater. Every large government on earth knows this formula and refuses it, because taxing you funds the people who vote to keep the taxers employed.
