Don’t know if Mason Miller was pitch-tipping or not. But it was suggested at today’s Stammen presser that it didn’t matter because he was throwing balls. That’s entirely false. Knowing a slider is coming is a huge factor in a batter laying off a pitch he would otherwise swing at.

Even before the game, I was thinking Mason Miller for a 6-out save. I was very happy to see him against the 2-3-4 hitters in the 8th. And after that quick inning, there was no chance I wanted to see anyone else in the 9th. I'm not going to pretend I'm mad about that.
Man, I don’t know what the answer is. Better relievers than Morejon and Miller? They don’t really exist. Sometimes baseball is just brutal.
