The Holocaust didn’t begin with gas chambers. It began with words, propaganda, dehumanization, and ordinary people learning to hate their Jewish neighbors, just as they are today.
That’s why actually teaching history matters. Recognizing how it happened is just as important as remembering that it happened.
Never again means paying attention to what’s happening now and recognizing the same signs that were ignored 93 years ago, when it began.

PRAYERS UP right now, as Texans are lining highways and overpasses to honor the slain deputy, who was hit in a barrage of some 800 bullets, as his body makes its final journey home to a wife and 3 children— including a newborn.
He was 31.
The gunman unleashed more than 800 ROUNDS at law enforcement while helping serve felony warrants near Canton.
Behind that badge was a husband and father whose family had just welcomed another baby into the world.
His wife, Kyleigh, described Adam as brave, strong and kind. A man who laughed hard and loved even harder.
Now she’s facing the unimaginable task of raising their three young children without him.
And today, another heartbreaking chapter unfolds.
Adam’s body is being escorted from the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office to Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
The procession will travel along I-35, Woodall Rodgers Freeway, I-45, Highway 175 and I-20.
The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office is asking Texans, firefighters and fellow officers to stand along the route and on overpasses to honor a man whose life was taken so violently.
RIP.

Meet Stanley, the D-Day veteran who just celebrated his 105th birthday! 🎉
Born one of eight children on a farm near Headcorn, Stanley Robert Elliss originally had an art scholarship lined up.
Instead, he answered the call of duty and joined the RAF - eventually landing on Gold Beach on D-Day to help secure crucial airstrips for Allied Spitfires.
Now a decorated Legion d’Honneur recipient and Burma Star veteran, he marked this incredible 105-year milestone on October 22, surrounded by loved ones at Brambles Care Home in Wye.

Captain Shir Eilat, 20, an IDF officer and commander of observation soldiers in the Border Defense Corps’ 414th Unit at Nahal Oz, led with exceptional composure on October 7, 2023, as Hamas terrorists stormed the base. She directed forces in real time, activated defensive systems against the attackers, and put her soldiers’ safety and morale first until the end.
She fell in battle defending the outpost and the communities beyond it.
May her memory be a blessing.

On May 31, 1951, near Hill 420 in Korea, twenty-year-old Rodolfo “Rudy” Hernández was badly wounded and his rifle had jammed as enemy troops closed in.
While others fell back, he fixed a bayonet, grabbed a grenade, yelled “Here I come!” and charged alone into the advancing force.
The son of Mexican farmworkers in California, Hernández had left school at age eight to help support his family. Now, wounded and outnumbered, he fought hand-to-hand, killing six enemy soldiers before collapsing. His solo attack slowed the assault long enough for his unit to regroup and counterattack.
The next morning, medics found him among the dead. His injuries looked fatal, and they were preparing to place him in a body bag when one of them noticed his finger twitch. He was still alive.
Hernández remained unconscious for more than a month. When he woke, his right side was paralyzed, his jaw was shattered, and he had to relearn how to speak and move. He recovered enough to receive the Medal of Honor from President Harry S. Truman on April 12, 1952.
After the war he earned a degree in business administration, raised a family, and spent decades as a counselor for the Department of Veterans Affairs, helping other veterans rebuild their lives. The boy who had picked crops to help his family became a man who spent the rest of his years serving others.
Rodolfo Hernández died on December 21, 2013, at the age of 82. On a Korean hillside they nearly buried him.
Instead he survived, recovered, and spent more than sixty years proving that the story that began with a bayonet charge was far from finished.

He went into enemy territory disguised
as a fisherman to rescue two American pilots. Six months later, a bullet tore through his skull—and another Navy SEAL carried him through enemy fire rather than leave him behind.
In 1972, Navy SEAL Thomas Norris volunteered for two rescue missions deep inside North Vietnam after commanders believed the downed American pilots were beyond saving.
Disguised as a Vietnamese fisherman, Norris slipped through enemy-controlled waterways and jungle, eventually locating the pilots and leading them to safety. For those extraordinary rescues, he received the Medal of Honor.
Then, six months later, Norris was ambushed during another mission. He was shot in the head, suffering a devastating wound that left him unconscious and near death.
His teammate, Mike Thornton,
refused to abandon him.
Under heavy enemy fire, Thornton carried Norris to the water, dragged him into the sea, and swam with him for hours until they were rescued.
Both men survived. Both eventually received the Medal of Honor.
Norris later served 20 years with the FBI. Thornton continued his military career.
Their story became more than a tale
of battlefield courage.
One man went back for the impossible rescue.
The other went back for him.
Neither was willing to leave a
teammate behind 🫡 ♥️🇺🇸

🇫🇷 🇬🇧The V1 was heading toward a hospital. The Free French pilot chasing it was eight days away from his wedding.
On August 3, 1944, Jean Maridor intercepted a German flying bomb threatening Benenden Hospital in Kent.
The 23-year-old Free French ace flew Spitfires with No. 91 Squadron of the RAF. Credited with five aerial victories, he had also become a skilled V1 hunter. His final interception would bring his tally to seven flying bombs destroyed individually.
Four years earlier, he had escaped France to keep fighting.
Shooting down a V1 carried a deadly risk: get too close, and its exploding warhead could destroy the fighter pursuing it.
There was another way. A pilot could slide his wingtip beneath the V1’s wing, disturbing the airflow and tipping the flying bomb off balance, without necessarily touching it.
According to the Le Havre municipal archives, Maridor tried to tip the "doodlebug" but could not bring it down.
With the hospital threatened, he turned to his cannons. He closed to less than 50 meters and fired.
The V1 exploded. The blast destroyed his Spitfire. France’s Order of Liberation records his final attack as a deliberate sacrifice to save the hospital.
Before the war, Maridor worked as a barber while learning to fly and studying to qualify for military pilot training. He earned his first pilot’s certificate at sixteen.
Eight days after his final mission, he was due to marry his fiancée, Jean Lambourn, a serving officer in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force.
He was twenty-three. They never had their wedding.
Remember Jean Maridor.

Or Mozes from Ashdod is an Israeli Hero.
When she and her fellow commanders on the Zikkim army base understood that Hamas terr0rists were attacking, they evacuated the 90 younger and less experienced soldiers to a safe place, and then went to the front to fight the many H@mas terr0rists.
When Or ran to evacuate an injured fellow soldier, she was shot dead by Hamas terrorists. She and her fellow commanders saved the lives of 90 soldiers, while 7 of them were k!lled.
OR was just 22 years old. She leaves behind parents and two younger siblings.
May her memory be a blessing.

The Youngest Medal of Honor WWII awarded by President Truman in 1945. 🇺🇸
Pfc. Jack H. Lucas defined selflessness and grit under fire. Forever an inspiration to all who wear the uniform.
14 years old: Forged a signature to join the USMC.
17 years old: Covered two grenades on Iwo Jima to save his fire team.
On February 20, 1945, just six days after turning 17, Private First Class Jacklyn "Jack" Lucas was in a trench on Iwo Jima with three fellow Marines when two Japanese grenades landed in their position.
Without hesitation, Lucas dove onto both grenades, shielding his team and absorbing the blast of the one that detonated. Miraculously, he survived—bearing over 200 pieces of shrapnel—and saved the lives of his fellow Marines.
At 17 years old, he became the youngest Marine in history to be awarded the Medal of Honor. Semper Fi to an absolute legend. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 WAMBI COOK — HE REFUSED TO LEAVE HIS BROTHER BEHIND
In Vietnam, Wambi Cook served as a paratrooper with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade—the legendary Sky Soldiers. During some of the fiercest fighting around Dak To, Cook found himself in a fight where men were wounded, ammunition was running low, and the enemy kept pressing the attack.
Cook was wounded, yet he stayed in the fight. When two medics were badly wounded, Cook refused to abandon them. One of those medics was Rick Patterson, who was critically wounded but ultimately survived.
Reinforcements could not immediately reach Cook's position. His fellow soldiers, themselves pinned down on higher ground, did what they could—they rolled grenades down to him. Cook used those grenades to defend his position while continuing to protect the wounded.
Then came the moment that says everything about the man. He went back for the wounded medic. Under fire, Cook helped get him out. That's what the word brotherhood means.
It isn't just a word veterans throw around. It is knowing that when everything has gone to hell, someone is willing to risk his own life to make sure you are not left behind.
Wambi Cook survived Vietnam and went on to help preserve the stories and memories of the men of the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
His story will also be featured in Killing Charlie, a forthcoming book preserving the combat experiences of Vietnam veterans. We owe men like Wambi Cook more than a thank-you.
