Brisson and his office should be embarrassed by how bad of a PR move this is. All the heat was off his client, whilst he’s been playing the worst hockey of his career.
This move gives them no leverage, costs $, and makes Larkin look as bad as when it was a 3-team list. Shameful.
This actually solves a lot of problems for both teams. The biggest question is how bad QH still wants to play in Michigan

Mock Trade:

For
3-5 spare parts my team doesn’t need
… This is 99% of what’s out there on every single NHL rumor
Is everyone else noticing the cardio game by Larkin? Total passenger. Very unusual by his career standards. He needs to be better if he wants to go.
Sell The Team! #lgrw
Hey @spittinchiclets …
Wings fans booing Larkin and chanting “sell the team” aren’t at odds
- Larkin bailed on us with 5yrs remaining
- Ownership has derailed the team for months, now leading to Edvinsson wanting out too
Both things can be true.
Is anyone in a decision making position within the @DetroitRedWings organization paying attention to the extreme public sentiment disaster that is on display?
And it’s all their own doing.
Has a major sports franchise ever tried less?
This trade list is strategically limiting. The *new* teams on the list don’t have any cap space or assets to offer. It’s a way for it to appear as if he’s expanding his list while not making a trade any easier for the team.
He doesn’t want to leave bad enough.
Per @FriedgeHNIC, Dylan Larkin's trade list has more teams now than initial reports - thinks it's ~8 teams & includes COL, WSH, DAL, TBL.
What potential trades come to mind from this expanded list? ⤵️ #LGRW
In Jan the Red Wings were in 1st place. A poll of fans would give an uncontroversial list of the top six people in the org that made them feel optimistic about the teams future.
In early June, everyone expected all those guys to be here for years to come.
In July, only 3 remain
To DAL:
Dylan Larkin
To CHI:
Jason Robertson (with extension)
To DET:

Ya know who loves young reclamation projects?
Kyle Dubas
The Seattle Kraken have agreed to move on from Shane Wright and trade him this summer, per @FriedgeHNIC.
In my discomfort with the Red Wings signing Arvidsson I called him Temu Tarasenko
… On a less serious note, is Patrick Laine Temu Selanne?
TBL can’t possibly put together a legit package for Werenski
TOR doesn’t need him as much with the Raddysh signing… but if they’re the only suitor, is it Knies, Reilly, and a 2nd?
The sudden salary cap jump is destroying parity in the NHL
Top teams have no difficulty retaining their talent + building around it
Middling/lower teams have no one to spend on + their good players are forcing their wayout mid contract to play on the top teams
… Where’s Gary?
Tkachuk
Larkin
Werenski
Hellebuyck
… All ask to be traded to “better” teams within 4 months of winning together in the Olympics & seeing that it worked for Quinn a few months prior. Your team isn’t the problem. Their soft & entitled mentality is. That list is not a coincidence
Looking back at how Zach reacted to coach saying they were okay with losing and how he flipped out at Laine making a similar comment back in December
Zach saying he would happy for bones being brought back now suddenly wants out
Things are making sense now #CBJ
Pierre Lebrun on DET:
… “Detroit has told teams that if they don’t get their price met on Larkin, they’re willing to tell him to come back to training camp in Sept
Any other team I’d say that’s posturing, but I believe it when teams tell me that about Yzerman.”
