"School choice" is bait & switch for MORE GOVERNMENT and MORE BEAURACRACY! Money ALWAYS has strings which means less freedom. Call your Texas State Rep and tell them to vote NO on HB3. A simple call with that simple statement is all that is needed. Any good State Rep will get a summary of their calls and the subjects of those calls. They'll listen when pressure is applied. Share this so others can learn about the false promises that come with state created redistribution of wealth. #txlege 🧵 1/

Thank you Deep Singh Badhesha, for illustrating the single biggest issue with immigration.
If only 35,000 liberals move to Wyoming, we would flip it from solid red to purple. If 50,000 move, it'll be more Blue than Michigan. Wyoming has a population of only 588k people. Let's do it!

I love how Redditors can't even find an image of Conservatives melting down so they just photoshopped a Maga hat on the crying liberal from Trump's first inauguration. Total cultural victory.

My objection to the religious left is that it only takes the Christian ethical teachings seriously when they don't run into any conflict with contemporary secular progressive ethics, as with abortion. If you only believe the parts of Christianity that make you popular, then you don't really believe in Christianity, whose founder was quite unpopular in his time.
One of the more exciting parts of this election - among many - is the return of a religious left.

I hate to break it to people who believe the "pendulum" will "swing" back again. Every time Democrats take power, they inflict crushing destruction and damage that Republicans never undo when they wield it. The net effect is demographic shift and judicial activism we'll never recover from. 2024 was a wasted opportunity that may never happen again and if you're not enraged, you weren't paying attention.

“Commandancy of the The Alamo Bejar, Feby. 24th. 1836 To the People of Texas & All Americans in the World- Fellow Citizens & compatriots- ….The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken - I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, & our flag still waves proudly from the walls - I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch - The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily & will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country - Victory or Death. Oh, an Indian guy wants to colonize and conquer the last non-communist parts of America. Neat.

C. S. Lewis had Talarico's number (and yours) long ago
I wrote this in March and MAGA evangelicals treated it like heresy. Yet it's exactly what I heard time and again in Texas, from Texas Christians. nytimes.com/2026/03/08/opini… "Talarico is one of the few openly Christian politicians in the United States who acts like a Christian, and by acting like a Christian, he reveals a profound contrast with so many members of the MAGA Christian movement that’s dominated American political life for 10 years."

Will be interesting to watch how progressives will now represent previously red states and on which issues they will moderate. >Before the race, Talarico called for dismantling “oppressive” systems and attacked assault weapon and magazine bans. But after the campaign, he magically became a proud capitalist and 2A believer. >Hinojosa ran the Progressive Caucus and defended transgender rights before Abbott attacked her record. She answered with an ad that listed her pronouns as mom, Texan, and soon-to-be governor. >Andrews in SC said children’s safety outweighed anyone’s right to an AR-15 in 2022. This year, she told voters she doesn’t want to take anyone’s guns. They all won by selling the moderate version, but their votes after January will show which one they actually are. (I have a feeling we know the answer)
Texas and Michigan just elected senators who think Jesus wants them to flip tables while they push spending that exceeds every dollar the federal government collects in income taxes. When Talarico compared his win to Jesus clearing the Temple he was telling supporters the other side is the injustice that needs overturning. After El-Sayed beat Rogers he told him he chose hate, even though fellow Democrat Haley Stevens had already said El-Sayed wasn’t fit to serve. With only 54 seats they still fall short of 60, so both want to kill the filibuster and add Supreme Court justices.

“I flipped to y’all this time ‘cause them data centers was about to suck the power outta the whole dang state and turn granddaddy’s field into a robot warehouse.” — Excellent! We’re also doing universal gun registration, mandatory buybacks of every rifle that looks mean, and a hotline so your neighbor’s cat can report you for owning ammunition. “Hold up now, I only wanted the servers gone, not my guns.” — Plus open borders with free houses, free healthcare, free Ubers, free everything, no cash bail, a ban on gas trucks, gas stoves, gas grills, and any vehicle that can tow a boat. “Sweet Jesus, this is gettin’ more ridiculous every time you open your mouth.” — Your grandson’s a girl now.
🚨 BREAKING: Incoming House Judiciary Chair Jamie Raskin promised in an interview that UNIVERSAL GUN REGISTRATION would be one of the Democrats’ top priorities in the upcoming Congress. It’s barely been 36 hours. They aren’t waiting. They’re coming after your guns.

"allahu akbarriers"
And now I’m here on Oxford Street, London on my way to this morning’s photoshoot and admiring the newly installed allahu akbarriers, just in time to keep Christmas shoppers safe from Muslims with mental health issues who want to drive into pedestrians and kill them.

An open racist like this hasn't held power in Texas in a long time. Thanks to Cornyn and others, their kind is allowed to hold power because "I don't like tweets" or some other Boomer nonsense.
This is Gene Wu, the new Majority Leader of the Texas House of Representatives.

Bo French’s tweet was seen as a racial attack on Indians. The marginal gains republicans had seen with Indian voters were reversed. To many this seemed to enforce French’s point, that the ethnic interests of Indians mattered more than their political values. It seemed both French was right and Indian voters were acting rationally. French was not the only Texas politician to talk about racial interests. Gene Wu, Democrat, gave an interview where he explicitly said white people are the oppressors and it’s in the interests of black Latino and Asians to come together to take over the country, to fight the oppressors. This of course is exactly what French said, but instead of condemning it, it was stated as a positive political vision. That racial interests override political ones, and that democracy ends up an ethnic head count. Wu is now the majority leader in the Texas State house. It seems this is how minority groups feel. They do vote for their ethnic interests above all else, and they view white people as the enemy. French is right to be concerned as his ethnic group becomes smaller and smaller. Especially when the political leadership of the other side explicitly lays this out.
I talked to some of my cousins in Texas last night about Bo French. Indian Americans, conservative evangelical Christians, lifelong Republicans. Basically me, except they wear Cowboys jerseys instead of 49ers jerseys. The older folks didn’t fully understand his comments because of the language barrier. The younger folks saw the posts on their phones and were pissed. These are families raising 4.0 students, valedictorians & salutatorians who earned their way into UT. We are supposed to be the party of merit, and here’s a guy on our ticket treating American kids like garbage.. You can argue taxes or public safety all day long, but once you start questioning whether their honor roll kids even belong in their own country, these voters don’t care what else you are selling. Buy all the TV, digital and mail you want. Cool. Good luck with that. Please, nominate normal people, even for the most obscure office. There’s a downticket impact.

I have been told that Christian Nationalism is a horrible, evil, nasty thing…unless you simply discard the meat of Christ’s Lordship and obedience to His Law and wear the skin of “Jesus said be nice to one another” around the rotting carcas of socialism…then it’s super cool.

This is a false religion and no kind of Christianity. But Ezra Klein is right. It is rising. And true Christians are going to have to have an answer to it. Which starts with knowing the word themselves so that they can identify the counterfeits.
