Salwan Momika was shot dead on 29 January 2025 in Södertälje, Sweden, during a TikTok livestream. Swedish authorities identified Syrian national Bashar Zakkour as the suspect in absentia; location unknown.

We have to go back a decade to have something worth praising Valve. Their legend about being consumer friendly should be dead.
Gabe Newell has an interesting point about something game developers can get wrong: assuming every unexpected player action is cheating or hacking.
In a 2013 talk, the Valve boss said: “One of the biggest mistakes game developers make is to mistake a genuinely entertaining action by a player as hacking.”
He used the famous 1997 Ultima Online incident as an example. A player killed Lord British, Richard Garriott’s character, during a public event. The developers rolled the world back instead of letting the assassination become part of the game’s story.
Newell said: “They should have let that instance turn into whatever an instance turned into after they killed off Lord British.”
