BIP-110 is a majority softfork with grass roots rough consensus and no URSF.
Like it or not, it will succeed and it will set a very good precedent.

Look! Three chickens!
I don鈥檛 think people understand the stakes of what the BIP-110 attackers just attempted. It鈥檚 not a software update, it鈥檚 a forced takeover. If a contentious 51% attack successfully seized control of Bitcoin鈥檚 protocol development and crowned one developer king it would be the single biggest crisis in Bitcoin history and millions of bitcoins would be sold by longtime holders. This would cause a real price crash, not a little bear market. Hundreds of millions of innocent/unaware users would be financially devastated. All the credibility Bitcoin had built in the world would be wiped out. Attacks on consensus are playing with a nuclear bomb.
Fortunately bitcoin works like we thought it did and this attack never stood a chance. Future attacker take note, consensus does not bend to your will.
