I have a really bad habit of not checking the email account for my blog. Most of the emails I get there are spam but once in a while, there's a real gem. So if you sent something to me months ago, I'm sorry for the late reply! Must start forwarding it to my real email...
Shoutout to @lbluemarble, @SplitRockReview, @EcotoneMagazine, @terrainorg, and @SinkingCity who are featured in this post!
I wrote a blog post for the first time in several months. In this post, I explore 5 lit mags that focus on the environment: place-based magazines with nature writing and climate fiction! #writingcommunity #litmags

I feel so grateful to have received so many acceptances from so many great journals this year and it's only May. I, of course, will keep featuring journals on my blog where I haven't been published, but I wanted to share my appreciation for these ones today.
Lastly, I have a story coming out in @PorcupineLit which I've also featured on my blog before. One story I enjoyed from their latest issue is "Not Yet and Maybe Never" by Jennifer Wortman about the small indignities of being an adjunct professor
In particular, I wanted to share the essay "On Witnessing Fires, One at a Time" by Hasheemah Afaneh which is beautifully written and also unfortunately all too relevant in that it discusses wildfires in the Israeli settlements in Palestine sinkingcity.as.miami.edu/has…
I also have a short story forthcoming in @SinkingCity While I eagerly await being published in their journal, I read through their latest issue and loved everything in it.
Thirdly, I got a short story accepted in @wondrousrealmag last month, and I really enjoyed reading the story "Underwater" by Yukari Kousaka published in the same issue as my story, "The Bookbirds." I loved the concept of a future underwater world. wondrousrealmag.com/post/und…
Second of all, I got a piece accepted in @LucentDreaming 's issue on retellings. Also featured in that issue is this poem about disney princesses empowering themselves by Timi Sanni: lucentdreaming.com/seven-dis…
First of all in January, I got a story accepted into @aurorajournaI which I've featured on my blog before. I've continued reading some new pieces in their latest issue, and one of my favorites so far has been "A City of Silhouettes" by Rosemary Melchior: theaurorajournal.org/spring-…
This process seems to have really been paying off this year since I've had fiction acceptances in 5 journals, more than I've ever had in one year. These journals are awesome and I wanted to highlight some of their pieces (not my own, others published in the same journals).
I've been neglecting writing my blog on lit journals these past 2 months because I've been deeply buried in reading lit journals to figure out places to submit. My process is to read 3-4 pieces of the most recent issue of journals to to get an idea of what they want.
Finally, here's an essay from a friend of mine @wordsonaplate about the different places she's lived and her connections to them. thefourthriver.com/o10-conte…
I always enjoy a good dystopian education story (it's a soft spot of mine as a teacher" so I liked this fun, absurdist glimpse into the future from Joshua Benjamin in @FunFunFunicular funicularmagazine.com/read/e…
Here's a poem that takes the topic of fast food and ties it to love and hunger in a cool way: "Carl's Jr" by Jeremy Radin in @CrazyhorseLitJo crazyhorse.cofc.edu/featured…
I'm working up the energy to write a blog post for #poetrymonth on some poetry-focused lit journals. In the meantime, I'd thought I'd share some cool pieces from lit journals that I've read this week.

Hi everyone! We’re in search of writers who base their work on immigration, culture and communal identity. This is for an interview series. If you are someone who writes on these topics or know someone that does, please tag them.
