Duke’s defensive gameplan was well executed last night.
Cattoor can’t even get to the dribble handoff here bc Roach completely disrupts him coming off the initial off ball screen.
Communication and off ball defense was as good as it has been all season.
Mark Mitchell has looked so much more comfortable on his perimeter touches of late. Didn’t see this type of decisiveness in the beginning of the season.
Over his last five he’s averaging:
16.2 ppg
8.2 rpg
62.7 fg% (27-43)
50.0% 3pt (3-6)
76.5% FT (26-34)
Tough to envision a scenario where Duke wins without this steal and score by McCain. Game saving play.
Tyrese Proctor set career highs both in made field goals (9) and FGA (16). Was in attack mode from start to finish.
This sequence from Flip is special
Cuts off driving attempts by two guards back to back gets a great contest.
In transition, knows where Roach is the entire time (can see him pointing to Roach when Proctor has the ball)
When he gets the ball, immediately whips it to Roach.
Jaylen Blakes ignited the second half comeback. Creates a five point swing with a chase down block and a couple possessions later makes the extra pass to Flip for the crucial three. Massive plays.
Tyrese Proctor took over late in the second half. Really stepped up after Roach had to leave the game.
