The sheer fucking hypocrisy surrounding Elon Musk is breathtaking. For decades, billionaire-funded foundations have financed advocacy groups, political campaigns, legal organizations, and efforts to reshape public policy. George Soros is one of the most prominent examples. And somehow that influence is routinely presented as enlightened philanthropy. Then Elon Musk enters politics, spends openly, challenges powerful institutions, and suddenly the entire establishment discovers the dangers of billionaire influence. Give me a fucking break. The man has built companies that launch rockets, connect the world through satellites, manufacture vehicles, and advance technologies with enormous implications for humanity. His long-term ambition is to make civilization multiplanetary. He has a profound personal interest in a future where technological progress remains possible. You can disagree with his politics. But pretending he’s just another billionaire looking for influence ignores the extraordinary scale of what he’s actually trying to accomplish.

Elon Musk finally saying it out loud for the world to see. Ukraine is the crime hub that all the dirty US politicians are buried up to their necks in. All of them have substantial investments in making sure Trump doesn't blow their cover. It is glorious. I have known this for years.
Replying to @elonmusk
And some of that US taxpayer money comes back through multiple laundry machines to fund political campaigns in America, which is why you see some politicians caring more about Ukraine than America!

A company enforcing its own terms of service is not an act of hostility. Starlink was built as a civilian service and has never been cleared for offensive weapons use. That rule was clear from the start. Let's not forget the record, when Russian jamming and strikes knocked out nearly every other communication channel, Starlink kept Ukraine connected in the war's most critical days. No private company has done more. Starshield is a separate, government-controlled system, so decisions about its military use rest with Washington, not SpaceX. Blaming a private firm for declining to be an instrument of war, while ignoring years of free support, is a poor way to treat the one ally that never left.
Correct. Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be. Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them. Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week. Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact. Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia. SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR. That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell. End of story.

What appears to be happening: Starshield is under the direct control of the White House via the DoW and Space Force, and Zelensky wants to use it against targets the U.S. will not allow. So Ukraine tried to use civilian Starlink for offensive drone strikes instead. @elonmusk and @SpaceX still answer to U.S. law and blocked Starlink's use as an offensive weapons guidance system. Either way, POTUS controls all U.S. military systems in that theater and has final say. If Zelensky wants to use Starshield for those strikes, he needs to convince POTUS—not Elon Musk, who isn't legally allowed to authorize it.

Elon donated thousands of Starlink terminals to Ukraine. Elon gave Ukraine free service. All Elon asked was don’t drone people. They broke the rules and spit on the gift that was handed to them. Receipts:

We also just learned how dishonest and fucked up Ukraine is by their violating the Terms of Service then blaming Elon and President Trump. Another reason to cut off the cash to Ukraine
Democrats want to nationalize Starlink and Space-X because Musk has shown how inefficient government really is.

Ukraine hacked civilian Starlink for its military drones. It got caught and blocked. Then doubled down and went full narrative war against Trump & Elon. So fuck Ukraine. Cut it off 100% immediately from ALL support of any kind. It will cave to Russia, the war will end, and poor civilians will stop dying in trenches while the rich whine and dine.

This makes sense. (1) Ukraine had been hacking Starlink to get around flight restrictions for years. (2) When Starlink tightened their security, the hacks failed. (3) For political reasons, Zelenskyy accused Musk of shutting down access.
‼️‼️ Now this is something! 🔽 This technical thread suggests (explains) that the entire Starlink/shield slowdown issue is not a consequence of a political decision in the US or by Musk but the result of Ukrainian engineers hacking the system to bypass it's controls and do something they are not permitted to do - and when Starlink took steps to prevent the bypassing and ensure the controls remained effective, suddenly the system stopped working in 'bypass mode' - and Zelensky then set out to politicise matters. The explanation makes the bits of the puzzle fit together and fits with the New York Times article in which Ukrainians explained that although the system is formally limited to 100 mph they have managed to exceed it. ~~~~ "What was really going on with the Starlink scandal in Ukraine? An analysis of the technical modifications, hacker boards, Elon Musk’s restrictions, and why drones started falling at the end of 2026 and Zelensky staged a pre-election Trump scandal. Big thread 👇 1/15 Let’s start with the tariffs. Inside the country, only civilian Starlink has always worked: the basic tariff ($100), commercial in-motion ($400), and priority headquarters ($2–4k). Aviation tariffs cost up to $1K–20K–100K+, but they are unavailable in the country. 2/15 Because of the high load, the network was overloaded. SpaceX had to keep prices high for the military in order to build an excess of ground stations around Ukraine for minimal signal latency. By the way, these sites with antenna domes recently began to be burned on orders from the darknet. 3/15 The main problem at the front is electronic warfare (EW). Because of GPS jamming, civilian Starlink chips froze, and with false location the terminal was blocked. The solution was a GPS hack board. Engineers soldered it inside to manually set the required coordinates. 4/15 The hack boards also allowed bypassing Musk’s geographic zones. For a long time Starlink did not work in the gray zone under Russian control. But if you entered the coordinates of a neighboring region of Ukraine, the connection came back to life. The Russians used this too, until Kyiv received exclusive whitelists. 5/15 By 2025 Musk began tightening the screws and lowering speed limits for commercial tariffs. But military engineers discovered a loophole: technically the satellite-terminal communication session is not rigidly tied to GPS. The protection was only on the terminal module itself. 6/15 If the terminal thought via the hack board that it was static, it itself sent a radio request to the satellite and received the necessary data for the session. There are already about 10,000 satellites, and the signal was picked up even with a spread of 150+ km. The drone was flying, but the Starlink server considered it stationary. 7/15 This was a shared secret. Before being sent to the front, the cases of new Starlinks were massively opened in order to solder in the GPS hack and install durable moisture-proof connectors. This way the ordinary tariff allowed drones to fly at high speeds. 8/15 At the beginning of 2026 Musk lowered the speed of the commercial tariff to 160 km/h across the entire planet. This is below the speed of many simple UAVs with a tailwind. But because of the mass use of hack boards in Ukraine, no one noticed this. The terminals reported that they were supposedly standing still. 9/15 At the END of 2026 SpaceX responded harshly. A server-side check was introduced: if according to GPS the terminal is stationary, but at the same time it switches from satellite to satellite too quickly (which reveals a real speed above 160 km/h), the server instantly drops the session. 10/15 The GPS hack stopped working. Ukrainian military began having problems with long-range UAVs. Now flights must be strictly planned so as not to exceed the 160 km/h limit. There is not always money for aviation tariffs, and SpaceX does not sell them because of the attacking nature of the use. 11/15 Against this background Zelensky is trying to get access to StarShield (the US military Starlink) without restrictions in order to fly over the Russian Federation. But Trump, Musk, and the Pentagon refuse him. The Ukrainians presented the restrictions as a political blockade, remaining silent about the fact that the Starlink speed limit has already been in place for a year. 12/15 Now there is behind-the-scenes ping-pong: Musk says that he changed nothing these days, Rubio states that StarShield is unavailable to Ukraine. The bottom line: Starlink is gradually being squeezed into the framework of cars and stationary use. Bypassing the system no longer works. 13/15 Whether the speed check was turned off or access was given to special aviation tariffs is still unclear. The failure affected a narrow segment of drones. However, satellite communication on super-high-speed drones was already a compromise because of the signal delays of 1000 km to orbit and back. 14/15 Russian UAV specialists are in no hurry to rejoice. The simplicity of using Starlink slowed down the development of other technologies in Ukraine. Now Kyiv can, on an emergency priority basis, refine more complex autonomous mesh-AI systems that will fly deep into the Russian Federation. End of thread. 15/15 Written based on materials from last year’s newspapers, most likely not true and total nonsense. No one and nothing is right on the internet. Author — a boring schoolboy from Georgia."

So it turns out that Ukraine's issues with Starlink were caused by Ukraine. Starlink terminals disconnected at speeds above 160 KPH, as determined by the Starlink terminals internal GPS. To get around this, Ukraine hacked the Starlink terminals to think they were stationary regardless of speed. SpaceX figured this out, and updated the system software to detect excessive speed by seeing how rapidly the terminal switched from on satellite to another. This broke Ukraine's hack, and Starlink would no longer work at high speeds. Ukraine was using Starlink in a way that violated the terms of service. Starlink figured it out and stopped it.

A Duke player swatted a woman's arm away on live TV Saturday. Under NCAA rules, his own head coach isn't allowed to overrule her. She's an athletic trainer. Back in 2016, the biggest conferences in college football passed a rule giving trainers and team doctors "unchallengeable autonomous authority" over medical decisions for injured players. Coaches can't override their calls, and they can't even be their boss anymore, since the rule pulled medical staff out of the coach's chain of command completely. Brian Hainline, the NCAA's top doctor at the time, called it the most important piece of legislation in NCAA history. That sounds like a lot for a rule about trainers, until you hear why they needed it. Trainers were getting steamrolled. Coaches wanted their guys back on the field, and the medical staff didn't always get the final word. Even three years after the rule passed, about a quarter of college athletic trainers told NATA they still didn't feel like they had real medical authority at their own school. So think about what she's running into. A player is down and not moving. Every trainer is taught to treat that as a possible neck injury until they know otherwise. The 2020 guidelines for spine injuries in football basically come down to keeping that head and neck still, which means one person takes the head and everybody without a job in that circle backs up. A teammate hovering over the pile is one more body that can bump him or get in the way. And in the third quarter of a rivalry game, with his ears stuck inside a helmet, a hand on the shoulder is honestly the fastest way to tell a guy to move. Look, he was worried about his teammate. Anybody who's played knows that sick feeling when your guy isn't getting up. The most useful thing he could've done for him right then was take two steps back and let her work. If Manny Diaz walked out there and shoved her aside on a medical call, Duke would be breaking NCAA rules. Somebody should probably let his cornerback know.
