POV: A regular product shot just isn’t dramatic enough. 😭 CapCut PC’s Black Friday sale ends Oct 30, with 60% off Pro or 40% off Ultra. Desktop only! So the product gets a whole flying entrance instead. It’s a simple creative twist, but it makes the reveal feel much bigger. CapCut PC helps bring the footage, overlays, and effects together into one polished edit. Try it here: 👉 tinyurl.com/2v23rn22 #capcutpc #capcutmarketing #capcutblackfriday #capcutsale

Keeping a voice model loaded can reduce startup overhead, but it also occupies memory your app may need elsewhere. This CPU comparison of @hojoHQ’s 40M and 80M models makes that deployment trade-off worth a closer look. 👇
Would you keep a voice model loaded to avoid a cold start, or release the memory for the rest of your app? @iam_chonchol’s comparison puts real numbers behind that trade-off. His free Colab test used a two-core CPU, no GPU, and both Hojo-TTS-Light variants with everyday sentences, technical terms and more difficult formatted inputs. His reported generation times were about 1.7 seconds per second of audio for 40M and 3.5 seconds for 80M. Neither was real-time on that setup. That is important context for anyone planning an interactive feature: support for CPU inference does not mean every CPU will meet the same response-time requirement. It also explains why results from a more capable local machine should not be used as a direct prediction for a small shared runtime. The other measurements matter just as much to deployment planning. Alamin reported peak RAM of 1.3GB versus 2.2GB and load times of 6 seconds versus 14 seconds. Those values belong to his environment, but they expose two separate engineering questions. Can the process fit while the rest of the application runs? And can the application tolerate a cold start? Keeping a model loaded may avoid repeated loading, but it also means retaining its memory footprint. A team has to decide which trade-off fits its product. The choice between the variants is not simply a race to the larger model. 40M comes with 15 built-in voices; 80M adds cloning from a short reference, used with the speaker’s permission. Alamin did not find a clear naturalness winner on ordinary sentences. If an application only needs a clear notification voice, a preset may already satisfy the requirement. If a particular voice identity is central to the experience, the reference workflow becomes part of what needs to be evaluated. His pronunciation observations are also useful. The ordinary sentences and technical words were clearer in his examples than the formatted price-and-date line. That is a reason to keep difficult inputs in the evaluation set, not to discard the whole result or assume the issue disappears in other messages. Prepare the intended spoken form, retain the original input, and compare the audio again. Correctness has to be checked on the content the product will actually speak. There is one deployment distinction worth making explicit: Colab is cloud-hosted. The test demonstrates CPU inference in that environment, not an on-device privacy guarantee. Self-hosting gives a team a choice about where synthesis runs, but compute, integration and maintenance still have costs. For offline deployment, the surrounding application and its data flows need to be assessed too. Thanks for sharing the trade-offs, @iam_chonchol. For us, the value of an open model includes this ability to examine it under ordinary constraints. A useful adoption decision starts with a specific voice task and a target machine, then checks the audio, startup behaviour and resource use together. That is more informative than choosing by model size alone. github.com/HojoAI/Hojo-TTS-L…

Remember Space Bunny? It was an early look at MiniMax M3.1 Flash, which is now officially launched. M3.1 Flash is open source, giving developers the opportunity to explore and build. The model is making a strong case in agentic coding and computer-use benchmarks: → 73.7% on DeepSWE v1.1 for complex software engineering → 76.2 on BankerToolBench for multi-step financial workflows → 61.7 on OSWorld V2 for computer-use tasks → 82% on CyberGym for cybersecurity I also tested its coding capabilities by building NEON VELOCITY, a 3D cyberpunk racing game. The idea was to create an interactive racing experience with futuristic city visuals, 3D environments, and gameplay mechanics. What stood out during the build: → Handling a complex coding task beyond a basic website → Bringing visual design and interactive elements together → The importance of token efficiency when refining and improving a project through multiple iterations Another interesting part is the cost-effectiveness. MiniMax reports nearly 3× faster inference and 70% lower usage costs on agentic tasks, making it an interesting option for developers working on projects that require repeated coding and refinement. The key isn't just benchmark scores. It's how performance, token efficiency, speed, and cost come together in real workflows.

HOLY SH**T 🤯 JST-2 is building AI worlds in actual 3D, with physics at the core. Generate a scene in seconds. Expand it in real time. Create characters with motion built in. This is way beyond generating pixels. The future of AI worlds is getting WILD.
🤝 Paid partnership
Today we are releasing JST-2, the world's first full-stack physics-native world foundation model. Many world models learn in pixel/video space. We went back to first principles and built the entire model stack in 3D. Generate a 3D scene in seconds and expand it in real time. Create characters with motion built in, all through one general architecture.

Voice input helps you express a thought. Personal AI aims to help you do something with it. That shift from capturing intent to supporting action, is one of the more in demand directions in AI product design. SpeakON is exploring that space and simplifying the way we interact with technology.

we crushed a keyboard. its retirement party got a little out of hand. for years, it was there for every email, every plan, every “just one more thing.” a loyal colleague. a very loud colleague. but your ideas move faster than your fingers. and somewhere between knowing what you want to do and typing it all out, a quick task becomes another thing taking up your afternoon. meet SpeakON AI Agent. start with what you need, in your own words. less time behind a blinking cursor. more room to move things forward. the keyboard had a good run. now, let’s give your voice a turn. THE LAST KEYSTROKE is here. watch the film, then tell us: what’s the first task you’d hand over? speakon.app/x Disclaimer: The calling feature is still in beta and will be available soon. All other Agent features are available now, with ongoing improvements.

Our latest model advances bring stronger capabilities for building and migrating software in low-resource programming languages such as COBOL, Fortran, and Visual Basic. These languages power software that banks, governments, and businesses depend on. Progress here means understanding decades of business logic and helping developers modernize those systems while preserving what works. We’re building these capabilities around the challenges developers and enterprise customers bring us. If your team is working on these systems, tell us which languages and workflows we should tackle next. openai.com/index/low-resourc…
