This has been a great reading year for me. I've been spending a lot of time at the library, just picking up whatever looks good. Here are the ten books that really knocked my socks off.
What were your favorite books this year?

Last night I had a production meeting with the lovely folks at Grimdark Magazine and I have to say, yet again, that I have the *coolest job* and I work with the most amazing people.
💜💙💚
I just finished editing this today and it is INCREDIBLE.
If you love epic fantasy, you *need* this book.

I fail pretty hard at social media these days. I will try to remember to swing by here more often, but if you’d like to chat with me, I hang out on my Discord server a lot these days. Want an invite, feel free to ask!
Hey folks, I’m going to be at Dragonsteel this afternoon. I will mostly be hanging around near Wesley Chu’s booth so that’s where you’ll be able to find me. I plan on heading in around lunchtime and hanging out till people get sick of me.
I spent a little time today and completely revamped how I have my story bibles and edit letters set up. It feels a bit like I cleaned my office. Everything is so organized and pretty and so much *better*.
Hang on, I need to pat myself on the back. 😅
I've got an apple spice scented candle going. Soft jazz in the background. An amazing book I'm about to finish editing open on my desktop. It's cloudy outside and a little cold...
It's finally starting to feel like fall. 🍂
Good morning, my fellow writers and editors. Don't forget to take time today for your mental health and self-care. Smell the flowers. Stand up and stretch. Drink some water. Sacrifice something to the old gods...
It’s been a bit since I’ve posted what I’m reading, so here’s my next one! (With my sad, autumnal garden in the background.)
Have you read it?
What are you reading?
Also, a wee reminder that I have started the most chill writerly/readerly discord server for those who want to join. It's quiet and chill and a great place to hide when social media becomes A Lot.

I get asked a lot for advice I'd give writers and honestly, it's... just get the words on the page. That's it. Don't worry about anything else until you've got the words on the page. Let that first draft be messy and glorious and fun. Deal with the rest of it later.

HELLO, MY LOVELIES.
Two things:
1. I'm scheduling out through SUMMER OF 2026, so if you want something edited in the first half of 2026, let me know.
2. I have exactly ONE slot open in late November/early December. Let me know if you want it.

Second day in a row I’ve been able to write over 1k words since about 2022. I am Not Productive when my mental health is spiraling, apparently.
But two days of productivity? Words that I *don’t hate*?
I’ve fought really hard for this.
Today’s baking project(s). I had a can of pumpkin on hand so I used it.
Pumpkin spice bread with a crumble top and maple glaze (it’s not terribly pretty but it smells good) and pumpkin spice cookies.
Clover wants to show off her new collar. It came with a matching leash. She feels very fancy, I assure you.
My weekend read.
I love the setting (historical Spain, complete with the inquisition), the lush prose, and attention to detail. I’m not sure where this is going, but I’m eager to find out. This one is proving hard to put down.
