Thank you Morgan for giving the Zimbabwean people hope during the darkest times…when the Mugabe regime had taken away all hope. Thank you for the sacrifice & the boldness of choosing to speak out when it was not fashionable to do so. You will always be remembered for your unselfish sacrifices, your courage & your inspiring wisdom.

Serbian students have become a political force. They did what many said was impossible. They turned protest into a majority.
They have shown what democracy can still do.
Good News from Belgrade 🇷🇸‼️
After 2 years of relentless, non violent protests in the capital of Serbia, students have emerged victorious.
The government had to call for a snap election due to the rising instability in the country & students came up with a list of parliamentarians to participate in the election. The Students List composed of University Professors, Doctors, Engineers, actors, artists, athletes and ordinary citizens some of them who participated in the protests.
The Students list won 140 out of the 250 available seats. Aleksandar Vučić (former President of Serbia 🇷🇸) has already conceded defeat meaning the students now has to form a government and reshape the future of Serbia.
I admire this shift from purely disruptive protest to institutional participation and problem-solving. Don’t just complain about the problem, think outside the box and come up with tangible solutions. Students in Belgrade had to stop demanding change from the outside and instead made a robust decision to build a concrete alternative. This is what philosophers call Constructive Activism or Prefigurative Politics.
This is a reminder as well to all of us that like what Professor Erica Chenoweth says: well organised Civil Resistance still works! The students victory in Belgrade also debunks 2 myths about non violent resistance that: 1. Non violent Resistance cannot produce genuine social, political or economic transformation. 2. Non Violent Resistance is passive, weak and inactive.
Students in Serbia continue making history, from the Bulldozer Revolution which led to the demise of the notorious Slobodan Milošević in October 2000 and now this tremendous victory against Aleksandar Vučić’s Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
Congratulations Serbia 🇷🇸
