Public safety never sleeps. Our police stations never close and our officers are always there to answer the call. To that point, BPD Officers responded to 269 calls in a 24-hour period ending at 10AM Tuesday which included 4 aggravated assaults, 4 auto thefts and 20 miscellaneous larcenies.
More great police work.

Thank you for thanking us, @BOSCityCouncil Councilor Erin Murphy!
There’s no such thing as too much thanks and praise for Boston’s 1st Responders but today’s a good day to try. National First Responders Day is observed annually on October 28 to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and service of America's police officers, firefighters, EMT’s and 911 dispatchers. So, feel free to thank a 1st responder today.

Never forget our fallen heroes like BPD Officer Jeremiah Hurley who gave his life in service to our city on this day city 35-years ago on October 28, 1991. Survived by his wife, two daughters and two stepsons, Jerry was 50-years-old at the time of his passing and was a 23-year veteran of the department. His heroic service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
For the 2nd year in a row, the BPPA Appreciation Day - a chance to thank and appreciate the hardworking men and women of law enforcement and their families - was a smashing success. Thank you to all who attended and supported the event.
With election day just around the corner, the BPPA is once again reminding its members to get out and vote for Governor Maura Healey. Said BPPA President Larry Calderone, “Since her time as AG, Maura has been a staunch, strong and vocal supporter of law enforcement.”

Replacing LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell would be a reckless and deeply destabilizing move. Jim is one of the most seasoned police professionals in America, with the experience and collaborative skills Los Angeles needs at the helm of its police department. At a time when LAPD is already facing a serious staffing shortage, and with the 2028 Olympics less than two years away, political upheaval could push even more officers out the door. nypost.com/2026/10/20/us-new…
