🚨 BREAKING: Haley Stevens (D) just WALKED OUT to OFFICIALLY endorse Mike Rogers (R) — and he's standing right at her side! "My vote for Senate...MIKE ROGERS." 🇺🇸 "We have to stand with country. WE CAN'T STAND WITH HATE. We can't stand with Hasan Piker!" "I woke up this morning, decided to go to church — and I am here with the person who I am voting for. That is Mike Rogers." 🔥🔥🔥 This is an absolutely amazing sight. Political earthquake happening in MI This is the same Stevens who was supposed to be at a Detroit church today with Jim Clyburn, showing Democratic "unity" behind Abdul El Sayed Abdul ruined THAT

Kalshi just raised an additional $1B, valuing the company at $40B. This will help us expand into stocks, compute, indices, and institutional. Tomorrow marks 8 years since we got accepted into YC and the journey began. The odds of a kid from Lebanon getting here were pretty low. Growing up there was great, but very challenging. We went through war. We had bombs explode in front of my house. I watched brilliant people’s lives destroyed for reasons beyond their control. Lebanon is an unpredictable country. That unpredictability made it hard to plan for success. And yet despite it all, my mom sacrificed everything to give me and my brother the chance to go back to the US. I found my refuge in two things: anime and math. Especially math. I loved math because it calmed me. It was the opposite of unpredictable: clear, deterministic, orderly, and consistent. The proof is either right or wrong. I find that elegant and beautiful. I was lucky. I made it to my dream school, MIT (largely thanks to my mom), and my love for math quickly translated to a love for statistics, probability, and markets. I love markets for a lot of the same reasons. Their incentives are clear: you get rewarded for being right and for pursuing knowledge. They are effective weighting machines for people’s opinions. They provide an incentive to be truthful, because they separate good information from bad information. They let people challenge the consensus and be rewarded for being right. IMO, Hayek, Surowiecki, Hanson, Tetlock were the founding fathers of prediction markets. The more I read them, the more obsessed I got with the idea of applying market-based pricing to more things. Markets bring rigor and critical thinking to more questions. And in an increasingly polarized and information-positioned word, I believe we need that more than ever. Markets would also let people predict and manage more things outside of their control. And the world was becoming increasingly more unpredictable, and more like Lebanon, not less. That love for markets got Luana and me to build Kalshi. At first, it was mostly an idea we couldn’t stop talking about. We didn’t have much money. Luana’s sister bought the Kalshi domain name for us (for ~$1.7k). We moved to SF to get started, and embarked on a long, uncertain journey to build a regulated exchange. The paranoia and anxiety from my childhood never left me. Even when things are going well, I think about what could go wrong. When people trust you with their money, that instinct serves a purpose. I wanted us to build something that would hold up under pressure. The first principle we defined at the company: regulatory-first. We worked with regulators for years before we listed a single market. We took every step to do things the right way and always asked for approval before proceeding. It was very hard at times, especially when we were being overtaken by competitors, but we believe doing things the right way matters. Luana and I aren’t the only ones. Our team put years of their lives into something far from certain. That’s especially true of Lior, Brandon, Rainer, Luis, Xavier, and Josef, who stuck with us for years. They believed when there was little to point to. And they stuck with us no matter how long it took. Kalshi is the result of an arduous journey through a long desert where, at times, most people didn’t understand why we were making the walk. Many people still don’t understand what we’re doing and some disagree with us. Markets have historically taken time to be understood and accepted by some. But while not always obvious, their benefits are vast: capital markets help allocate capital and derivative markets help predict and manage uncertainty. I firmly believe in these benefits, and that’s why I am dedicating my life to building this market. Markets have caused issues many times in the past, and they certainly can present harms (manipulation, insiders, and addictive behaviors). These harms are more acute for certain types of markets (sports, short-term options, etc.) than others. It’s why I believe that guardrails need to exist and why we have taken the approach we have taken. We have consistently prioritized thinking critically about the risks and building the appropriate safeguards, sometimes beyond what the regulators require us to do. Many believe more needs to be done, and that’s a conversation I welcome. Over time, I believe more people will see what we see: markets can help us get smarter and manage the future with more rigor, more precision, and more certainty than we have today. To our tens of millions of users: you have made Kalshi bigger than anything Luana and I could have possibly imagined. Thank you for trusting us and thank you for coming along on the journey. I feel a strong responsibility to build a company worthy of that trust. I am so lucky to spend my life building something I love. I hope everyone finds something they care about that much. Something that keeps you curious. Something that pushes you to your limits. Something that may put you at odds with the status quo. Something worth the hard days. For me, it’s still markets. The more I learn, the more I want to understand.

There was no blockchain hack at all, it was a centralized exchange like if Capital One or JPM or Equifax were hacked (oh wait they were all hacked in the past) and with tokenized stocks properly issued are permissioned assets so a hacked like this will have never happened so your comments is completely out of context.
There’s a lot we still don’t know but some observations: - this episode underscores just how unfit for purpose the crypto ecosystem is for mainstream finance. - no, the Clarity Act wouldn’t have prevented this - “tokenizing” stocks on permissionless blockchains is a bad idea

My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will: 1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate. 2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority. 3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority. This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word. All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

honestly, @PythNetwork vs @chainlink isn't an interesting comparison anymore 🟦 chainlink is a full platform: CCIP for cross-chain, proof of reserve, settlement rails, compliance and identity. 🔮 pyth is a market data platform: financial market data. corp actions. proprietary indices. on that front, the scoreboard is pretty clear → rwa perps since jul 1: $2.66T on pyth, 92% of all volume - binance $1.61T - okx $357B - hyperliquid $326B - bitget $172B - bybit $123B → prediction markets are going the same way. over the last 30 days: - kalshi commodities & fx: ~90% resolved by pyth. - polymarket finance: ~91% on pyth. - kalshi's gold and silver perp CFTC filings name pyth as the sole price source. → tradfi is plugging in too. pyth is an approved external distributor of nasdaq basic. Euronext, SGX, Fidelity, and other all in. a few more names in that tier are coming. can't say more yet. → pyth is also in the policy fight. @DouroLabs and @HyperliquidPC co-signed an SEC letter on rule 611, arguing for transparent independent reference prices like pyth's when NBBO doesn't apply onchain → next market data customer: agents. pyth is API first. its MCP server serves prices, history and candles, and @ExaAILabs is testing it so agents can research a move and pull the data in one answer → the business: - $11.49M ARR, +86% QoQ - 100% rule: every dollar the DAO earns from pyth products buys PYTH. monthly, open market, onchain (October numbers coming soon) have a day, i'll be at the gym if you need me

This isn't surprising. The incentive for issuers to consent to tokenization of their stock under the SEC's Innovation Exemption are weak –– they may get 24/7 trading, but that trading occurs on US venues rather than in new global markets, so there's no net new demand. But issuer objections aren't going to stop this train. There are many legal pathways to bring securities onchain that don't require consent and that aren't subject to the SEC's jurisdiction. Someone could even build a permissionless protocol that does so. So, if the SEC wants to maintain oversight of US securities markets, it needs to create an approach for tokenization that delivers the full benefits of onchain markets –– atomic settlement, 24/7 trading, global liquidity, etc. Supporting permissionless trading of securities through DeFi systems would accomplish that goal, and doing so would create the incentives for issuers that the innovation exemption lacks. nitter.cf/EleanorTerrett/status/…
🚨UPDATE: Four more issuers have objected to @okx/@ICE_Markets tokenizing their shares under the SEC’s innovation exemption: IBM, Oracle, Intel and IonQ. That brings the total to 26.

My Pyth package arrived 📦💜 and the timing couldn’t be better. And right after that, Pyth announces the 100% Rule: Every $1 the Pyth DAO earns → used to buy $PYTH. Revenue goes in. $PYTH gets bought. The Reserve grows. Interesting time to be watching Pyth.

Democrats suggested that anyone convicted of a felony involving insider trading, money laundering, terrorist financing, or financial fraud in the last ten years be barred from raising money under Regulation Crypto, and we agreed. The Clarity Act bars them. Democrats voted against keeping convicted criminals away from your savings.

We Muslims have spent years trying to force non-Muslims to respect Muhammad through fear and intimidation. Criticise him, you get attacked. Insult him, you get killed. Get accused of blasphemy, a mob comes for you. So after all these years of threats and violence, do they respect him more now? Or do they hate him more than ever? You can force people to stay silent. You can't force them to love someone. Fear doesn't create respect. It creates enemies.

This is the most serious 48 hours in cybersecurity history. "Black October" they're calling it It seems every *hour* there's a new incident, that in a typical year, would be one of the biggest incidents of the *entire year* SUMMARY OF THE LAST 48 HOURS: YEAR-LEVEL INCIDENTS (In a typical year, these would be among the biggest incidents of the year): 1. PHP2Shell: a hole in the software behind ~70% of websites. Governments took sites offline. 2. eMudhra: the master keys that prove websites are real were cracked. One was the number 4. 3. California: data on every public school student since 2023 stolen, including disability status 4. Railway: hackers stole customers' secret keys from a hosting platform used by millions of developers 5. Zeabur: 321,810 accounts breached. The company is shutting down. 6. LiteLLM: an AI tool downloaded 3.4 million times a day was poisoned with a password stealer 7. GitLab: a 10-out-of-10 severity hole in every version since 2014 8. Cairn: criminals used an AI hacking tool to break into 100+ companies 9. Ahold Delhaize: hackers knocked the owner of Food Lion and Stop & Shop offline 10. Onamae: malware planted on up to 26,739 customer servers in Japan MONTH-LEVEL INCIDENTS (In a typical month, these would be among the biggest incidents): 11. Signal: a bug could leave your mic and camera on after you hang up 12. NGINX: 3 critical holes in software running ~1/3 of websites 13. HTTP/3: a single connection can crash 7 of the 10 web server types tested 14. Plex: hackers breaking into home media servers 15. SafePay ransomware: FBI warns it has hit 600+ critical infrastructure organizations 16. Palo Alto: ransomware gangs breaking in through company firewalls 17. Bullhorn: platform used by 10,000+ companies knocked offline 18. Medi-Cal: 970,000 patients' data stolen 19. WordPress: hackers stole a plugin maker's keys and used them to plant backdoors on websites 20. AOMEI: backup software's update server handed out a backdoor 21. Meta Muse: Meta's AI agent exposed users' personal and business secrets 22. Tor: 333 relays hijacked to steal logins 23. TiDB Cloud: database company's cloud breached Also serious: 24. State Bank of India: India's biggest bank confirms a data breach 25. OVHcloud: hackers slipped a password stealer into a cloud company's official tool 26. Siemens: a software hole being used to spread malware 27. North Korea: state hackers launch a new attack campaign on South Korea
Guys I’m scared the takeoff is starting. I swear any one of the ~10 CVEs that dropped in the last 24 hours would’ve been “one of the worst in recent years” except a new one is dropping every hour

I think Muslims need to understand something uncomfortable. Non-Muslims do not owe Muhammad their respect. They do not believe he was a prophet, and some do not even consider him a good man. You can disagree with them, but you cannot demand that they see him the way you do. Your reverence for someone does not create an obligation for the rest of the world to revere him. So, are we going to kill everyone who insults Muhammad, or are we going to learn to practise our religion in a world where not everyone shares our beliefs? Because the world is not going to become Muslim just to protect our feelings. We have two choices: learn to live with our differences or spend our lives fighting a world we cannot control. You cannot force people to love your prophet by making them afraid to criticise him. You can only teach them to fear those who claim to love him.
