Molly being interviewed but not being able to get a word in was a homage to "You're a Great Sport, Charlie Brown" when Marcie interviews Charlie Brown
Heavy restrictions? I dunno about that. We pretty much let the team cook.
PERFECT DAY came out of my own childhood experience as a Viet kid.
On lunar new year, you're supposed to dress in your best clothes, have your best attitude, be on your best behavior, etc because how your day goes is a reflection on how the rest of your year will be.
ALAKA-SHAM! was the very last ep of Season 2 I wrote. Scratch using his ghostly powers in a magic show was an idea Bob wanted to do in Season 1, but the team didn't get around to it.
I was up on rotation and the idea board was looking sparse so I took on this story!

“What’s this gap in your resume? What happened there?”
Well, I was off being a TV writer and now Hollywood is dead. Next question please.
one of my favorite details you may have missed during You Can See Everything is that in the final shot of Elizabeth Holmes with her family in the prison yard, Billy Evans is eating from her bag of turkey jerky.
Such a diabolical funny way to end that film
I just saw @bauzilla at this last SDCC. We were passing each other in the lobby and we both reached out for high fives yelling, "Asians in Animation, brother!"
No way. Make this make sense!!! 💔

brandon hoang will either write the silliest episode (lets play turnipball, perfect day) or the most devastating episode (a soda to remember, i wanna dance with some-ollie)
None of the writers were excited about doing a body swap ep. But Disney asked for one and I was up in rotation.
In a lot of body swap stories, the two characters are at odds with each other. I wanted to do a twist where Molly and Scratch genuinelly wanted to help the other out.
A lot of times I threw in really stupid jokes in my first drafts just to get a laugh from Bob and Bill, never expecting them to make it to final.
... and sometimes it becomes their favorite joke of the episode.
Coach Syvertsson was named after Anna Syvertsson who is a very funny, very talented board artist!
I believe she's working on Adventure Time shows now!
Let's Play Turnipball! was another ep I wrote. When planning for this song I asked Rob to take inspiration from Newsies' "The World Will Know"
This was the first episode of TGAMM I wrote! I pitched it as a heist story where Scratch sabotages it because he's too scared to learn about his past.
I came up with the name "Adia" bc that was the first name to come up when I searched for "Dead Eyes" (a song by Adia Victoria)
