I ended up in the ER a few days ago after suffering a panic attack late at night. Thankfully, my vitals were healthy except I was a little low on electrolytes. The docs and nurses at Denver Health saw me quickly and took good care of me.
Scary experience. But I’ve been feeling so much better and normal since then.

“I have decided to make a change at offensive coordinator. My responsibility is to the whole team and what I believe is best for us right now. We need a change.
“I believe we still have meaningful opportunities ahead and a responsibility to maximize them. Our expectations remain high and our commitment to meeting them is unwavering.
“I want to thank Ben and all he contributed to us over the last two years. He is a fantastic coach, leader and teammate, and a great man. It didn't work like we all wanted it to, but I deeply appreciate the investment, love and passion he poured into our program. We wish his family nothing but the best.
“Coach Witten will serve as offensive coordinator and play-caller for the remainder of the season. Beginning today, he will lead our offensive staff in preparing a clear and focused plan that gives our players the best opportunity to execute with confidence.

It was inevitable and had to be done. An unfortunate situation for Arbuckle, who was expected to turn the offense around in Norman. There is a lot of blame to go around for the offense not performing. Arbuckle is the first one to fall on the sword.

Oklahoma got dragged into the SEC with Texas because there wasn’t much other choice in that moment. But leaving the Big 12 meant leaving dominance behind and becoming just another program trying to win in a league where everyone tries to win.
But ultimately someone has to lose.
What is happening in Norman is baffling. Smart, successful, driven, and ambitious people are not supposed to make mistakes like this. The data is there. The eye test results are in. And yet you double down. Triple down. Blinders to what is happening at other football programs around the country. You really don’t get the zeitgeist of any era of OU football. Wilkinson. Switzer. Stoops. We dominated. You have chosen mediocrity instead. This is on you. Not the players.
