Building rental house is not a mistake, it all depends on the timing and the nature of business or work you do as a person.
If you are a business owner still starting out, it’s not advisable to invest a huge chunk of your first money into rental house, it’ll definitely slow your business down.
I have seen lots of business men that started building rental houses and they never came out of it and their business suffered.
But for someone in an industry like web3 who doesn’t have a physical business he’s running then building rental houses is one of the good things you can do, it’s less risky that most investment opportunities out there.
There’s lots of ups for rental houses but you just need to get the timing right.
People usually make the mistake of assuming the main aim of having a rental house is to revover the money spent on building the house.
You can actually do alot with a rental housing;
- First off, the house is yours and you can always sell it for a value above what you spent on building it, land value can appreciate as well.
- While collecting rent which is like an added value on the assets
- It literally serves as a security to you, if something happens to you, you don't hit zero right away.
- You can get a good loan on that asset if you want, thats using it as a collateral
-Stable low effort income, you literally sit and get paid and you can increase the rent at will, 10 to 15 years later, when funds are fully recovered, property is still yours.
- forces discipline and patient on you, you can't spend lavishly when your money is invested in rental housing.
If you want to build wealth gradually while still focused on what gives you the wealth while making passive income, we have many other ways to invest your funds, i will recommend rental amidst other passive income investments you can actually do.

Two interesting things I discovered this week are:
1. That you can get genuine court affidavits online from the Nigerian Federal High Court. A genuine one, not the ones those roadside people give you.
The website has all sorts of affidavits, even ones I didn't know existed.
2. The National Population Commission has a working portal. You can register your newborn online and get a certified birth certificate that is accepted worldwide.
You can do all these things without any bureaucracy.

I have single handedly mentored lots of people in this space both publicly and privately for FREE, same way I’ve shared money making opportunities with people.
You are not the first person to have shared information on his page and people made money from it.
You don’t wanna hear it but he didn’t do anything wrong. You can’t be feeling like a Demi god because someone stumbled on an opportunity on your page.
Fix up mahn !!
So someone won $5k from a hackathon he stumbled upon on my page 3 months ago.
In excitement, he entered my DM.
“Thank you boss, I won $5k from a hackathon on your page. Keep up the good work.”
And that was it from him.
He came back today asking me to help him repost his content that he’s participating in a contest.
I first shake my head.

Do we really need all these L2s? I think Arbitrum, Base and Optimism is enough.
Because at this point these builders are farming users all in the name of L2

If the government allow them to dump their goods in Nigeria then we are in for a long ride. Eventually they’ll come for all sectors and many people will be out of work.
It’s so funny how we are neglecting the inefficiency of the government to regulate trade, provide feasible credit facilities and provide a working environment for businesses to thrive and shifting the blame to Igbo traders.
If the Chinese eventually crash the retail market in Nigeria, it’ll disrupt the circular flow of income. E go touch everybody walai.
Chinese businesses are crashing the retail market in Nigeria, and the solution is for Igbo businessmen to enter manufacturing?? Really???😤
There’s a chain of production, and for a business ecosystem to thrive, that chain must function properly. But it’s a pity that a lot of you people skipped basic economics classes.
You want Igbo men to enter manufacturing with this epileptic power supply in Nigeria? You guys think manufacturing is just making jean trousers and oil perfume.
This is the same issue a lot of countries, including America, are currently trying to address by refusing China from penetrating their markets, but somehow, we keep neglecting the inability of the Nigerian government to properly protect local traders and businesses.
These Chinese guys now have Nigerian bank accounts. Do you understand what that means?
You want them to go into manufacturing when you have to source every damn OEM, deal with unreliable electricity, import most of your raw materials, and still compete with people who can bring finished products into the country at highly competitive prices.
The problem is much deeper than “Igbo businessmen should start manufacturing.” We need to fix the entire ecosystem that makes manufacturing and local commerce viable.
