Just a quick note to thank the AGF team for putting on such a professional field day at Smeaton this morning. Germplasm insights for pasture and crop with new candidates to view.
Wimmera region looking 👌 especially with this week’s rain. Great to see @AGF_Seeds Triple 2 wheat debut in the region, Gretchen malt accreditation crops, @AuSeednet Barmah faba beans and @BreedersPlant Ambush and Hurdle seed crops.

Big year of @AGF_Seeds R&D trial sowing program draws to a close. 2026 is our biggest program yet with wheat & barley fungicide x variety, forage breeding, winter canola canopy management, new faba bean demos & seed treatment trials. Look forward to showcasing this work this year

Captain CL popping its head out after being sown last week.
There is still time to sow winter canola and take advantage of its grazing potential before locking up for harvest.
Stock is available and ready to get out the door and into the ground.

More great trial results for Triple 2, and our trial line WW2.
The disease packages proved their strength with both varieties showing little response to fungicide.

📍Millicent, SA
Our second to last 2025 CTC spotlight brings us to our Millicent crop technology centre down in South Australia's limestone coast. Some very interesting results with the top canola variety surpassing 5t/ha yield and significant barley leaf rust infections having large impacts of yield and grain quality. Numbers tell the story for Triple 2 in Southern Victoria.
Triple 2 is a Mid Maturity Red Winter Wheat that is providing exceptional yields in trials and the paddock. With a strong disease package, a wide sowing window, and providing dual purpose opportunities on farm.

BigRed & Triple 2 had a strong showing in the 2025 FAR Australia Gnarwarre Trial.
Both varieties offer incredible yield potential and their differing maturities (BigRed = Late, Triple 2 = Mid) make them great partners on farm.

First load hitting the weighbridge from @AGF_Seeds seed crop of our new Gretchen barley variety available to growers in 2026.
Many years of work to get to this point and excited to see a strong barley variety for the M-HRZ hit the market in 2026.
High late disease pressure in @AGF_Seeds wheat trial. In photo 1 the 3 reps at top = no fungicide, 3 reps in middle = 1 x flag leaf fungicide & 3 reps at bottom = 2 x fungicide. Winter wheats in left 1/3 of photo much stronger resistance vs springs on right. Great data to come!
