Congrats to @ReddyNehaA on her first, first-author paper! Head motion is *awful* for fMRI. It's particularly tricky in motor task fMRI, and even more problematic in the patients with motor impairments we want to study. Here, Neha shows that multi-echo strategies really can help!
New paper in Imaging Neuroscience @mitpress by Neha A. Reddy, Molly G. Bright, et al:
Denoising task-correlated head motion from motor-task fMRI data with multi-echo ICA

Plus, this marks our lab's first publication with @ImagingNeurosci - congrats to the new journal, and thank you to reviewers, for a smooth and successful (and ethically satisfying) operation 💪💪

Thank you to the organizers, @AndrewZalesky and @yetianmed, for a fantastic session; I had a lot of fun preparing the talk on "the vascular brain" and brain-breathing interactions. Ping me if you want to talk more!
🌟incredibly informative presentation! 🧠📚 Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insights. "Connecting the brain with the body in neuroimaging research"

Today we heard a compelling #OHBM2023 keynote from @emilyjacobs emphasizing the need for better representation of women in the neuroimaging and neuroscience community. Join us tomorrow, to inaugurate the new SIG for women faculty at OHBM, and help build our community!
We're officially back and (much) better than ever 🤩 #OHBM2023

Come along and be persuaded to embrace the physiological ambiguity of fMRI! It's actually really great!
How can physiologic signals influence your fMRI data? Learn how to collect physiologic data, use physiologic data to study brain physiology and interactions of brain/physiological process and how to model and remove physiological signals from your data in this course.

The speaker lineup for the upcoming @ISMRM Brain Function workshop in Padua is 👏outstanding👏 check out the preliminary program here: ismrm.org/workshops/2023/Bra… There is still time to register to join us Sept 4–6! Here is a preview of the clinical fMRI session (🧵)
Maxime Guye (@MaxGuye)from Aix-Marseille University will speak on fMRI in the epilepsy clinic. (And Padua will charm you with its canals!)
Finally, Maurizio Corbetta (@MauCorbetta) from the University of Padua will speak on the Function of Spontaneous Brain Activity. (The university is the second oldest in Italy, and Galileo enjoyed teaching there for 18 years!)
THIS. One of the most important transferrable skills!!
Come pitch your scientific work to local Toronto secondary school students at our Science Communication Secret Session tomorrow morning (9:15am Wed 6/7)! @jasmine_vu1 @djoshi0611 @kzvolanek #ISMRM23 @ISMRM youtu.be/VpP8MSriWFA
Spinal cord fMRI is rather (read: wicked) hard. Fortunately, the people I'm meeting at international conferences that work on it are exceedingly welcoming and supportive. Thanks everyone, and @Researcher_Rob in particular, for growing this community and helping me enter it.
