MicroPython-based OS with Android-like GUI that works on ESP32 and other microcontrollers
cnx-software.com/2026/01/29/…
MicroPythonOS comes with an appstore, an LVGL-based touchscreen and button UI with plenty of widgets, gestures and theme support, and a WiFi manager, as well as over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates.
The open-source project features a thin OS for hardware initialization, multitasking, and UI, and everything else is an app. It also runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS for easy app development. #fosdem2026

ALT A photo of a pcb on a lavender cutting matt. The PCB has two slots for Feather boards. One slot is taken by the Tess board. There is also a flex cable sneaking in from the other side of the board and into a fpc connector. There is an on/off switch. There's a part of a microSD connector, there are two Qwiic connectors, one facing outwards and one facing inwards. There's also a part of a QFP chip visible. And lastly there are 8 test points marked with IO0-IO7 and "GPIO Expander" next to them.
Prototypes for TESS, the @adafruit Feather compatible board running embedded Linux, arrived. Board bringup time this weekend! 🥳
