Thank you for your leadership on so many fronts Congressman-Elect @Scott_Wiener ! So much work ahead! Let’s Go! 💙💙💙
Thank you, San Francisco. I’m deeply grateful for the trust voters have placed in me, and I’m ready to get to work for you.
I want to thank Supervisor Connie Chan for a spirited and hard-fought campaign. We’ve had our disagreements, but we share a deep love for San Francisco and for our country. And thank you to our incredible campaign team, to every volunteer who walked precincts or made calls, to everyone who donated, hosted a house party, or put up a window sign, and to the labor unions, the environmental, housing, LGBTQ, and progressive organizations, the Democratic Party, and the elected officials who stood with us every step of the way. You turned this campaign into a movement.
I’m humbled to carry forward the powerful legacy of this seat — Phil Burton, Sala Burton, and the greatest Speaker in modern American history, Nancy Pelosi. Speaker Pelosi came to Congress to fight AIDS when too many wanted to look away, and she never stopped fighting for our city and our country. Madame Speaker, thank you.
This victory is also historic. For the first time ever, San Francisco will be represented in Congress by an LGBTQ person — indeed, no LGBTQ member of the House has ever represented any part of Northern California. When I stepped off the escalator at Castro Muni Station in 1997 and fell head over heels for this city, I could never have imagined this honor.
San Franciscans voted for results, and we have so much work ahead: Building the millions of homes we need; moving toward true universal health care; investing in clean energy, public transit, and high-speed rail; standing up for science, education, and immigrants; making sure people — not massive corporations — decide what works for this country, including on AI; and ensuring the rule of law applies to everyone, including the President.
It won’t be easy. But on Election Day, voters across the country delivered a powerful mandate for Democrats in Congress. I’m deeply inspired by the trust they placed in us to take big swings to lower the cost of living, stop the endless wars, hold Trump and his cronies accountable for their corruption, and rein in the threat of artificial intelligence. In Washington I’ll bring the same determination I showed in Sacramento every single day.
It’s time to deliver a better tomorrow for our city and our country.
🔥🔥💙💛

We're all fed up with scooters zooming by dangerously on the sidewalk.
Here's one new tool that will help: Lime is rolling out new cameras that detect sidewalk riding
This exists on 1/3rd of Lime's fleet now, and I have their commitment that it will be 100% next year.

It was my honor and privilege to give Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper, the longtime voices of the @SFGiants, Keys to the City and County of San Francisco after they called their final game together before Kruk’s retirement.
For generations of Giants fans, Kruk and Kuip have been part of our lives.
We listened to them in our cars. We listened to them in our homes. We listened to them with our parents—and then years later with our own kids.
Like so many Giants fans, I remember muting the TV during national broadcasts and turning up KNBR—because the biggest games didn’t feel right unless we were listening to them with Kruk and Kuip.
Kruk and Kuip, you have called some of the biggest moments in Giants history. But you have also become part of that history.

Three days before training camp, Steph Curry opted to give the Warriors $10 million in extra cap space flexibility next summer. His max was $65.7 million. He instead took $55.7 million.

It’s Kruk and Kuip Day in the City and County of San Francisco!
Today we will proudly honor the Giants legends ahead of their final game together in the broadcast booth this Sunday.
Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper became teammates with the San Francisco Giants in 1983, beginning a friendship and partnership that would come to define generations of Giants baseball.
After their playing careers, Kruk and Kuip took that partnership to the broadcast booth, where for more than three decades they have brought Giants baseball into the homes, cars, and lives of fans across San Francisco and the Bay Area.
Through their humor, friendship, knowledge of the game, and unmistakable calls—from Kruk’s “Grab some pine, meat!” to Kuip’s “It is outta here!”—they made the whole city feel like their teammates.
Kruk and Kuip gave voice to some of the greatest moments in San Francisco Giants history, including Barry Bonds’ record-breaking 756th home run, Matt Cain’s perfect game, and three World Series championships in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
For generations of San Franciscans, the sound of Kruk and Kuip has been the sound of Giants baseball—a familiar voice at the end of a long day, a connection between generations of fans, and a reminder that when you turned on the game, you were home.
Together, Kruk and Kuip have become one of the most beloved broadcasting duos in baseball history, and to generations of Giants fans, they are simply the best to ever do it.

Our San Francisco Unified School District started the new school year yesterday with a lot to be proud of:
🍎 97% of classrooms are staffed with a permanent teacher, compared to 75% just 3 years ago.
🍎 A fully balanced three-year budget was achieved.
🍎 Preliminary 3rd grade reading outcomes increased by 2%, for the first time in 6 years.
🍎 Preliminary 8th grade math outcomes increased by 4%, for the first time in 6 years.
This is real progress for our public schools—and a strong start to the new school year. We’ll keep working to make sure every San Francisco student has the opportunity to succeed. – at San Francisco, CA
Just perfect! ❤️❤️❤️
