The beans look to be revisiting an interesting level here. First test is if they can dig in at prior highs and keep RSI out of oversold territory. Otherwise a test of the 200-day and trendline below likely. $SOYB

Updated chart. I did not buy this, instead I bought TLT calls which have worked OK but not as well. The core thesis of the demand that built the large base remaining in place on a retest was what I should've had conviction in ... not all the noise around equities as a group.

Last week Buff Dormeier, CMT & I had the opportunity to introduce technical analysis to 400+ students at the Student Managed Investment Fund Consortium in Chicago. I started things off with the theory, using Carvana as a case study to show how basic technical analysis concepts can help signal changes in a stock before the fundamental shifts appear in the numbers. Then, Buff shared his practitioner perspective how he uses technical analysis in managing client funds, walking through several case studies of his own. What stood out most is the varying approaches students took to their own investment funds. No two schools had the exact same mandate, strategies, timeframes, etc.. And although most didn't realize they were using technical analysis concepts in their work already, as I chatted with them about their portfolios and decision-making process, they quickly realized they knew more about the subject than they realized. Excited to speak with several of the universities about joining our Academic Partner Program and taking other steps to integrated technical analysis into their curriculum. After an extended run $CAT has settled into its 200-day moving average and prior breakout area, offering a solid risk/reward entry after a 30% pullback. If it's going to regain momentum, this area is it. With $DE strength and others, I'm long a few shares vs. the recent lows.

So if you were bullish insurance stocks, waited nearly 2 years for a breakout, and missed it ... did the market just give you a second chance? Should be a lot of folks who were "waiting to buy" considering it as $IAK and several other industry ETFs revisit their base breakouts.

With the McDonald's news today, I can't help but think about 2024 when people were lining up to pay 25x sales for WingStop. $MCD $WING Now at under 4x sales, no takers. Maybe in the high 60s low 70s it will find some buyers.
