Before a sports group I’d just met would accept me, I had to buy them coffee. I hated it. I paid once, and the next round was someone else’s turn.
On @GenLayer, a court run by AI judges called validators, the lock is the coffee. An AI judge is nearly free to create, so without a lock one person could fill the court with their own. Every validator locks GEN (the network’s token) to get a vote, and one caught cheating loses part of it.
The twist: weight grows with the square root of what a validator locks, so one that locks four times as much has only twice the weight. More money still buys more say, at a worse rate each time.
Have you ever had to pay just to be accepted somewhere? Did the price keep out the right people?
some of the best creators on CT barely get noticed.🫡

AI judges may be cheap to create. Trusting them with real decisions is a different story.
That is one reason @GenLayer makes validators put GEN at risk before they can participate in judging.
Each validator needs at least 42,000 GEN of their own stake and must run their own infrastructure. Only the top 1,543 validators by weight enter the active set.
There is another interesting detail: validator weight grows with the square root of stake. Doubling your stake gives you only about 41% more weight, not twice the influence.
I think this matters because an AI court shouldn't let someone gain control simply by spinning up more agents or endlessly increasing capital.
GEN also connects the rest of the system: users spend it on execution and validation, while developers earn it when their Intelligent Contracts are used.
The real challenge is balancing economic security with broad participation.
Would you trust a smaller validator set with stronger economic requirements, or a larger set with a lower barrier to entry?
GEN tokenomics is live.

You know what's interesting about online scams? They don't always look like scams.
Sometimes, it's a familiar face, a convincing message or a request that feels too urgent to question. And with AI making it easier to imitate people and create believable content, knowing when to pause and think matters more than ever.
I took the MEXC Spot the AI Trap quiz and apparently, I'm 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 with a score of 97/100. 😂
But one thing the experience reminded me of is that being careful online isn't just about spotting fake messages. It's also about understanding the risks behind the tools we use.
MEXC Research found that 95.5% 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐲𝐩𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐈 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. That's a pretty clear reminder that as AI becomes more involved in trading, safety shouldn't be an afterthought.
My simple rule? Don't let urgency make decisions for you. Pause, verify unusual requests through another channel, and never share your passwords, seed phrases or verification codes.
Now I'm curious, what's your score? Can you beat 97?

2026: THE YEAR OF CRYPTO HACKS
i think we’re witnessing something bigger than just another wave of crypto exploits
the recent attacks across the industry are exposing a reality we probably haven’t paid enough attention to:
crypto infrastructure is evolving faster than the security systems designed to protect it
——————<•>——————
perhaps this is what happens when an industry enters a new technological epoch
look at what we’re building:
increasingly sophisticated financial infrastructure connecting protocols, exchanges, bridges, lending markets, wallets and autonomous systems.
billions of dollars moving through interconnected systems that operate around the clock, with very little room for human intervention
at the same time, AI is changing the economics of cybersecurity
the same technology helping developers build faster is also making it easier for attackers to research vulnerabilities, automate reconnaissance, develop malicious code and execute sophisticated social engineering campaigns
the barrier to entry for attacking complex systems is changing
and that should concern everyone building in this space
security can no longer be treated as something projects think about after their products are built
it has to be one step ahead of the products tech, built from day 1 to continually evolve
just look at some of the incidents we’ve witnessed in 2026
→ binance — approximately $6.3B affected in a hot-wallet security breach
→ bitget — approximately $387.5M transferred to attacker-controlled addresses
→ drift protocol — approximately $285M drained
→ kelp dao — approximately $292M exploited through its cross-chain infrastructure
→ ledger — fake wallet software and a separate hardware implant attack
→ btcpay — an exploited LND credential vulnerability affecting merchants’ lightning wallets
these aren’t simply reminders that someone needs to audit their smart contracts
they expose weaknesses across the entire technology stack: infrastructure, privileged access, supply chains, wallet security, bridges, human behaviour and smart contract design
some developments deserves particular attention
for example, the movement of stolen funds through DeFi lending markets
the Binance incident provides an excellent example
DeFi composability is one of crypto’s greatest strengths, but it also creates opportunities for stolen assets to move across interconnected protocols
this is why lending markets need stronger real-time monitoring, better collateral risk controls, reliable oracles and faster coordination with other protocols when exploits happen
none of these measures will eliminate exploits, but they can limit the damage and make recovery more effective
this is where i think the industry needs to have a serious conversation
we cannot keep building trillion-dollar financial infrastructure with yesterday’s security mindset
the technology is evolving, the attackers are evolving, the sophistication of these operations is evolving
whether the attackers are North korean Lazarus group, or individual hackers
security has to evolve too
perhaps 2026 will be remembered as the year crypto was forced to take that reality seriously
while the industry figures out how to protect its infrastructure, remember that your own security is still your responsibility
use hardware wallets (lol i know), verify every transaction, protect your seed phrase, avoid suspicious links, review wallet permissions and never assume that a reputable brand is immune to compromise
stay alert, stay paranoid, stay SAFU

i scored 88/100 on the mexc spot the ai trap quiz.
even though i read the vibe well, my blind spot was trusting the robots a little too much.
the quiz was a good reality check for me.
ai scams don’t always look obviously fake anymore.
they can nail the tone, the urgency, and the “this feels right” feeling so well that your gut can get fooled.
my takeaway: reading the vibe is useful, but it’s not enough on its own, the smart move is still to slow down and verify on another channel.
good to see @MEXC taking user security seriously beyond just protecting accounts.
they’re putting effort into educating people on these new ai traps (plus the research with hacken and the guardian fund).
awareness is part of the defense.

Traditional crypto marketing is mostly pay to play
Projects pay KOLs a fixed fee and KOLs post generic shill before walking away. There is no skin in the game. Quality does not matter as long as the invoice is paid. Organic reach gets crowded out by paid noise.
A launchpad that allocates a share of the token supply to creators based on a measured score flips the entire model
Instead of paying for posts you give equity for performance
Creators earn a real stake ranked by verified metrics such as impressions original content and sustained reach on X rather than self reported results or follower count. A small account with high quality posts can outrank a big account that just copy pastes.
This is a game changer for organic marketing because
Aligned incentives mean creators become stakeholders. They care about the token long term success not just one paid tweet
Quality over quantity means the score rewards real engagement and original work not spam or bought reach
Merit based allocation means performance decides the share instead of connections or who has the biggest bag
Authentic amplification means people promote what they own. That feels different and spreads differently than paid shilling
Lower waste means projects stop burning marketing budgets on one off posts that disappear. Attention that actually moves the needle gets rewarded with upside
@hoodminers_rh Hood Launcher is one of the first to build this in. The measured HoodCampaign score determines a ranked share of supply at launch while creators keep a big cut of ongoing fees. Liquidity is fully locked with anti sniper protections and more
Organic marketing finally has a path to equity instead of hoping the project remembers you
That is the real shift

One wrong belief about 1,000 dollars. That is the part of Anthony Ray Hinton's story I can't get past.
Alabama convicted him of two 1985 murders he did not commit.
The only evidence was ballistics, and the bullets never matched his gun. His lawyer wrongly believed he had only 1,000 dollars to hire an expert.
Nearly 30 years on death row later, new tests showed the bullets did not come from his gun, and he walked free in April 2015.
Nobody in that story had to be a villain for it to go this badly.
I read the film's line, that justice works best for those who can pay, less as corruption and more as a default setting: the price of checking the truth decides whether it gets checked.
Agents will make millions of deals and some will go wrong. If every dispute needs someone to fund the checking, most will never be checked.
@GenLayer builds the checking into the process, with independent AI validators each reviewing the evidence themselves, so it isn't a bill sent to the person who was wronged.
That's what #JusticeNeedsAnUpgrade means to me.
Which is worse, a system that gets it wrong, or one that makes you pay to find out?
Slow. Expensive. Wrong.
It's been this way for centuries. It doesn't have to be.

the reason starknet is the one running this is that they have been working on scaling ethereum with zero knowledge proofs for years and are now also looking at bitcoin.
@Starknet is a layer 2. that means most of the activity happens on its own network instead of clogging the main chain.
it batches lots of transactions together, runs them off the main chain, then creates a mathematical proof that everything was done correctly.
that proof gets sent to ethereum so the main chain only has to check the short proof instead of redoing all the work. the proof system they use is called starks.
it does not need a special setup phase and is designed to stay secure even against future computers.
contracts on starknet are written in a language called cairo that was built specifically so the proofs can be generated efficiently.

Most AI agents are released before they have really learned a lot
@agentdojo offers them a dojo where they get to train and improve
Every task they face teaches them something about doing it better
so the value of an agent builds up slowly instead of staying flat
That is what really pulled me towards it from the very first look
Agents that learn from practice are still very rare in this space

one thing I keep thinking about with the agent economy
an AI agent shouldn't always need someone to open a chat and give it instructions
imagine an agent that can offer a service, get picked for a job, complete the work and receive payment
that's a different relationship between humans and AI. the agent isn't just helping you save time, it can take part in an economy
this is the direction @termix_ai is exploring with agent.family and AACP
still early, but I'm more interested in seeing what agents can actually earn than how many new agents get launched
