We are releasing our first model, Flint, a best-in-class local OSS coding model that runs at 150+ tokens/s on an @nvidia DGX Spark and 125+ tokens/s on a MacBook Pro M4—developed from scratch in less than four months with help from @Recursive_SI's autoresearch system.
Introducing Flint, @Recursive_SI’s first model: a fast local coding model built with our automated research system, the Eureka Machine. • Best-in-class fast local coding • Up to 2x faster than comparable models: 125+ tokens/sec on a MacBook Pro, 150+ on RTX Spark • Built from scratch in under 4 months Private, unmetered intelligence on your own machine. Open weights available now on @huggingface, run it locally on your favorite framework or try it for free on @opencode or @pidotdev.

BREAKING: The U.S. government, Google, Meta & Zuckerberg-backed @biohub are launching a $1.8B push to build the data layer for AI biology. The goal is to create the largest open, AI-ready biological dataset ever assembled, giving models the data needed to better predict how biology works & ultimately help treat disease. The coalition is massive: › Biohub committed $500M › DOE is investing $500M+ across measurement, modeling & compute › NIH is bringing $500M+ of federally funded datasets & repositories › Meta, Google DeepMind & @IsomorphicLabs are jointly investing another $300M This is effectively an infrastructure buildout for AI biology. Instead of just building bigger models, they’re attacking one of the biggest bottlenecks in biology AI today, generating standardized, high-quality biological data at massive scale & making it openly available to researchers. $1.8B committed to turning biology into something AI can increasingly model, predict & engineer.

What screams ‘this has been AI generated’? Study finds ~13,000 tells: phrases that are at least twice as common in AI prose. It seems in Opus 5.5 “dependable” is 23x more common! techcrunch.com/2026/10/01/op…

This is bonkers. Unconventional AI’s first analog AI chip (using arrays of coupled resonators) generates an image with a total energy less than 900 nano joules. Analog AI is the next 1000x in power efficiency. Just like our brain.
I made some public disclosures about our hardware at the @theallinpod conf this week and wanted to share the progress here. Earlier this summer we got hardware back! The execution was madness…we went from no team in Jan to a tape out in 5 months. AI enabled MUCH tighter loops of research and our execution speed shows the results. This is the first large-scale demonstration of a causal, physical dynamical system to do real compute. 🚀 We released the Un-0 model (see link) in June and it runs on this physical system; the images below come from the actual hardware. What’s more, this chip requires <900 nJ to generate an image; this is many orders of magnitude less energy than conventional machines. unconv.ai/blog/introducing-u…

Over the past few days, I've taken the time to summarize my thoughts on the recent incidents involving agents’ misaligned behavior. We don't know with certainty what comes next, but we know where these issues originate, and this can help us plan the path forward. Please feel free to ask your questions in the replies, and I’ll try to answer some of them in the coming weeks. yoshuabengio.org/en/publicat…

This is concerning. For the first time, a Chinese model Kimi K3 has taken #1 on the Frontend Code Arena and is scoring at or near the frontier on other benchmarks. Meanwhile America is tying itself in knots: politicians and bureaucrats are banning new data centers, piling on state regulations, and pushing for new federal agencies to pre-approve frontier models. This is how you lose the AI race. The rest of the world won’t play by our rules if we bog ourselves down. Permissionless innovation is how America won the internet and became the technological envy of the world. We can do it again with AI -- while addressing risks in a targeted way -- or we’ll watch our lead evaporate.
Big news: Kimi-K3 by @Kimi_Moonshot is now #1 in the Frontend Code Arena with 1679 pts, surpassing Claude Fable 5. This is a 17-place jump from Kimi-k2.6 (#18 -> #1). In Frontend, Kimi-K3 ranked #1 in 6 of 7 domains: Brand & Marketing, Reference-Based Design, Data & Analytics, Consumer Product, Simulations, and Content Creation Tools, landing #2 only in Gaming behind Fable 5. The full model weights will be released by July 27. Congrats to the @Kimi_Moonshot team on this major milestone!

The ARK Venture Fund crossed $1B in AUM. We launched it in September 2022 with a question most of the industry wasn't asking: why does the average investor get locked out of many of the most disruptive companies on earth until after they've gone public? The math on the climb tells the real story: Sept. 2022: launch Dec. 2024: $100M Sept. 2025: $250M Jan. 2026: $500M June 2026: $1B It took two years to reach the first $100M. The most recent $500M came in about five months. What changed? In our view, three things converged: 1. generational private market boom (OpenAI, SpaceX, Anthropic compounding fast). 2. public market that's missing the most interesting stories. 3. growing belief that 401(k)s and brokerage accounts shouldn't be cut off from venture. The ARK Venture Fund is structured as an actively managed closed-end interval fund. That means non-accredited investors can buy in, with a $500 minimum, and the fund holds private companies alongside public ones, all within the disruptive innovation thesis. It's not a perfect substitute for traditional venture capital. We think it's something better: more accessible. What's in the fund today: positions in companies we believe are defining their categories. SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic, Epic Games, Figure AI, and others. Plus, public holdings that help the fund manage liquidity within an interval structure. The full portfolio is published. Transparency is the point. $1B isn't a finish line. It's evidence that investors want access to private disruptive innovation. Thank you to the shareholders, advisors, and platforms who made this possible. When we launched the ARK Venture Fund in September 2022, our goal was clear: democratize access to venture capital and many of the most important innovation platforms evolving today. Today, the ARK Venture Fund has surpassed $1 billion in assets under management. What stands out to us most is the acceleration in adoption. It took just over two years to reach our first $100 million. The next $900 million followed in roughly 18 months, with the last $500 million coming in only about five months. In our view, investors increasingly understand that many of the most transformative companies in the world are staying private longer. Public markets alone no longer provide full exposure to disruptive innovation. Through the ARK Venture Fund, investors can access companies we believe are shaping the future, including SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic, Figure AI, Epic Games, and others, at a minimum investment accessible to a much broader audience. This milestone feels less like a finish line and more like confirmation that innovation is becoming the new asset class. To our shareholders, advisors, and partners: thank you for your trust and conviction. We believe we are still in the early stages of one of the most profound technological transformations in history. The ARK Venture Fund crossed $1 billion in AUM. For decades, access to private innovation was locked behind accredited investor rules and seven-figure minimums. We built the ARK Venture Fund to change that. A billion dollars later, investors agreed. Learn more at ark-ventures.com.
