Simon Jordan makes a great point. Chelsea pioneered bankrolling their club to buy glory. Found guilty, they basically got away with it by self-reporting. Chelsea fans calling Man City cheats is as rich as it gets.

UAE bots are out in force, spreading their false narratives. The terrible financial state of English clubs is nothing to do with a “red cartel”. It’s because non-commercial clubs like Man City / Chelsea artificially inflated the market and the rules are too crap to address it.

If you add up Manchester City's spending to 2024-25, when the latest figures are available, you find will find they have spent £6.9billion since their 2008 takeover. That is almost double the spending at Tottenham, £2bn ahead of Arsenal, £1.5bn more than Liverpool, £730m more than United and even £481m more than Chelsea who, since their BlueCo takeover in May 2022, have spent a staggering amount on transfers. 📝 @CWeatherspoon_ nyti.ms/4idyYDv

It started with Carlos Tevez in 2009. The Argentine striker arrived in the Abu Dhabi United Group's first season of disguised funding at Manchester City — a year in which the club splashed a £128million (net) on players, when the rest of the Premier League spent only £145m. Across the nine years covering financial charges brought by an independent commission, City spent £1.388billion on new players. In part three of a special investigation, @CWeatherspoon_ looks at how City supercharged their own squad while weakening their rivals. nytimes.com/athletic/7663299…

Mahrez and Kante both missed by Arsenal and signed for the cheaters, you know why.
🩵🇩🇿 Riyad Mahrez: “I was supposed to sign for Arsenal after we won the league with Leicester. It was almost done, but Leicester blocked the move because they wanted more money.”

🚨🚨 𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Several reports from Chelsea sources claim Manchester City offered Chelsea £125M for Enzo Fernández. 🤯 But here’s where it gets funny… 👀 City allegedly wanted Chelsea to officially record the transfer as £80M, despite paying £125M — similar to how some of their previous deals have reportedly been structured. Chelsea said NO. ❌ No funny business. No creative accounting. No “£80M on paper, £125M in reality.” 😭 That reportedly became a major reason why the deal dragged all the way to the final day of the transfer window. Chelsea basically said: “If you’re paying £125M, write £125M. We’re not helping you cook the books.” 💀💀 Manchester City: “It’s just paperwork.” Chelsea: “Then put the real number on the paperwork.” [@Shednotty]

Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks. Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.

🚨When Gianni Infantino was UEFA general secretary, he helped broker settlement deals that let Manchester City and PSG avoid a possible Champions League ban over FFP breaches. Instead, they each received €20m fines.
