C-DOT proudly congratulates Pratul Kumar, Scientist-D at C-DOT, on receiving two prestigious awards at the 3rd International Conference on Digital Media, Communication and Information Systems (DMCIS 2026), held in Busan, South Korea, from 23–25 October 2026. He was honoured with the Best Paper Award for “Post-Hoc Score Calibration for Occlusion-Robust Face Verification” and the Best Oral Presentation Award for “IAER: Identity-Aware Embedding Recombination”. Presented under the theme “AI + Design,” these research works focus on Face Image Data Analytics, addressing key challenges in occlusion handling, face image enhancement, and reliable face verification through innovative AI-driven approaches. Adding further significance to this achievement, Pratul's research contributions will be published by IEEE , that will extend the reach and visibility of his work in the global research community. It was a privilege to have @DrJitendraSingh , Hon’ble Union Minister, visit the C-DOT stall at Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave @estic_2026 . During the visit, he was briefed about C-DOT’s #MissionCriticalCommunication (MCX) solution and was shown how it works. C-DOT’s Mission Critical Communication (MCX) is a secure, 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP)-compliant solution designed for first responders and emergency services. It provides prioritized, low-latency Push-to-Talk (PTT), voice, video and data communication for effective coordination during critical operations. Designed to operate over LTE and 5G networks, the platform supports priority-based communication, coordinated group operations and secure information sharing. Its potential applications span public safety, disaster management, defence, transportation and critical infrastructure. Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO, C-DOT, moderated a panel discussion on ‘Intelligent Networks and Quantum Communication’at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave @estic_2026 , held today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The panel brought together distinguished experts, including Dr. Ravi P. Gandhi, President & Chief Regulatory Officer, Reliance Jio; Ms. Sonali Garg, Deputy General Manager, HFCL Ltd; Prof. Bhaskar Kanseri, IIT Delhi; Prof. Rohit Budhiraja, IIT Kanpur; and Mr. Rajesh K. Pathak, Director General, Bharat 6G Alliance. The discussion explored the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in next-generation communication networks, highlighting the transition from rules-based automation to predictive, AI-native networks and the growing importance of quantum communication in ensuring secure and trusted connectivity. The panellists also deliberated on India's opportunities in shaping global 6G standards, developing Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), strengthening domestic technology capabilities and fostering collaboration among industry, academia and telecom operators. The Herbal Garden at C-DOT was inaugurated by CEO Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay on 26 October, 2026. The lush green space holds a variety of seasonal plants and herbs. It helps maintain the air quality of the campus and gives employees a peaceful spot to stroll and unwind. Dr. Upadhyay expressed his happiness at the creation of this facility. He hoped it would be improved further and become a place where employees can come to relax.
