Every single day @cmshanelth sounds the alarm about ICE in her district.
The city needs to respond to her calls for help - and the community resources need to match the urgency!
It’s a Green No Deal -
and the South Bronx will NOT sit idly by while 1000s of stationary diesel refrigeration trucks run 24/7 poisoning our air and our community.

Bronxites should never have to fear that a routine trip to the store could turn into an encounter with federal agents and gunfire. Read the Bronx Delegation’s full statement on today’s ICE shooting here:
The South Bronx is home to one of the most diverse immigrant communities in this city, and I’ll be clear on what our neighbors need: an Attorney General who actually fights for them. @TishJames has never been afraid to do that. Proud to stand with her tonight. #AGDebate2026
Tomorrow night on @NY1, @TishJames takes the debate stage.

Thank you to Local 79 members for joining our last rally to stop the use of labor brokers on affordable housing projects! Special thanks for Councilmember Justin Sanchez for joining us and to Local 79 leadership! @CMJustinSanchez
Hey @DOEChancellor & @NYCMayor!
I came to visit our Bronx high school bowlers during a league week held @gunpostlanes that has the exclusive PSAL contract.
Games were supposed to start at 4pm, it’s past 5 and the bowling alley still hasn’t allowed the kids to start.

New York City’s local government’s job is more important than ever in the face of a federal government fixated on endangering and demonizing the most vulnerable people in our city while the institutions meant to protect them bend their knee.

And we’ve been seeing major success. In June’s budget I successfully secured funding to support providers who supply gender affirming healthcare and targeting these funds to reach those who need it most.
Five cases of Legionnaires’ disease were confirmed in parts of Melrose and Morrisania, within the Bronx ZIP codes 10451 and 10456, as of last night. In a time of uncertainty, it is important to rely on information from official, trusted sources and avoid spreading speculation.
Legionnaires does not often spread from person to person. It spreads through small droplets of water containing bacteria. More often than not, it is fine to shower, drink water, and use the AC, but be sure to keep up with any public alerts of unsafe water.

My statement with @Lynn4NYC, @CMJustinSanchez and @A_StevensD16:
“We are deeply concerned by the news of a new Legionnaires’ disease cluster affecting Melrose and Morrisania in the Bronx. Five New Yorkers have already been diagnosed and, tragically, one person has died. Our hearts are with their family and loved ones.
This is now the second community outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in our city this summer, coming just two months after the devastating outbreak on the Upper East Side, which has claimed eleven lives.
We are in touch with the Health Department and are closely monitoring their response, including the testing of cooling towers throughout the affected area. New Yorkers who live, work, or have visited the affected area since late August and are experiencing fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or other flu-like symptoms should contact a health care provider immediately.
Our priority must be protecting New Yorkers and ensuring that every available measure is being taken to contain this outbreak and prevent further illness.”
New Yorkers are done stepping around the problem. Today @NYCCouncil passed my enforcement bill in the SCOOP Act. Now DSNY will be dispatched when a block receives 7 complaints of dog waste in 7 days and will hand out fines up to $400 to irresponsible pet owners.
This is absolutely right! A few days ago @BPGibson2025 and I had a call with @MTA about the lower concourse construction and spoke about this very issue!
We will be fighting to get this construction finished and making sure our stations are working for ALL of our residents!
