That feeling of remembering a quote deep within your bones but you can't remember the book or author. We owe so much of ourselves to writers we'll never remember yet remain part of who we are.

Imagine leaving a legacy where literally everyone is wrecked by your death. Dolly was beloved by folks from all walks of life in a way very few people are.

If Dolly Parton can gift 20million books a year to children, why can’t Amazon, Apple and Microsoft do something like this??

Dolly Parton was one of the most pure-hearted/talented artists of our time. Rest in power, Queen 💗

My latest newsletter: “Maybe there is no meaning—no deeper reason for suffering. Maybe we can all be bewildered and still searching for the light.” cindylamothe.substack.com/p/…

Books are the cheapest way to access a billionaire’s brain, a scientist’s brain, a polymath’s brain, an athlete’s brain, a king’s brain, a politician’s brain, or an artist’s brain.

Tomorrow’s newsletter is a very vulnerable and long essay that digs deep into the possible meaning behind different kinds of grief, spirituality and aliveness, questioning whether God exists or not, and realizing I don’t know anything at all. But make it literary.

One of the highlights of my career as a writer was having the iconic and inspiring @shondarhimes share my article for her site. Unfortunately, Shondaland has since removed a lot of past content from their site, but I still have this screenshot as a reminder. 💗

I just had my first ever yoga session and holy shit, that was intense! I do feel more clear-headed and grounded than when I’ve gone to the gym. I’m working hard on aligning my mind, body, and spirit—and this feels like a missing piece of that puzzle.

I am so honored to share this essay for @JaneGRatcliffe’s Beyond newsletter, about returning to the place where my beloved brother and I spent so much happy time together as kids.❤️ janeratcliffe.substack.com/p…

This is so real
Writers are the ones who celebrate the tiniest of wins with their best friends they've never met, but are the only ones who understand. 🫶

After a huge hiatus—today I began submitting my personal essays out again after several years of being buried in my computer. It’s never too late to start again.
