Age-appropriate sex education is critical for young people’s health.
Evidence shows that young people are more likely to delay having sex, and if they do have sex, practice safer sex, when they are better informed about sexual health and their rights 👉

The best students relax when real discipline is present because the troublemakers no longer have all the power. Order is the most important job of a teacher and it leads to learning and joy. Teachers who refuse to address misbehavior often cloak it in false compassion.

Seven years ago, I got to interview Jimmy Carter for @WinnipegNews. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever gotten to do in my career. I was wildly nervous, but was charming and very present with me, even just a day after he’d collapsed in the heat. What a life.

Many teachers are very surprised when they learn how much actual explicit instruction is in an Explicit Direct Instruction lesson.

When a teacher has command of her classroom, it’s orderly, calm, inviting; the kids are happy, productive, engaged in work
When they don’t, it’s chaotic, stressful, loud; the kids are stressed and unhappy.

@WabKinew @Cross4Seine Our children need ABA and classroom teachers need more supports to take care of the 1/36 children born with autism. Please check out Jamie Peddler's call for a National Autism Plan. I urge our province to act now. youtube.com/live/f-l3BGW11MQ…
