Why would employers bargain fairly if they know the govt can step in and end a strike? That’s the danger of C-39, and exactly why Bea testified before a HoC committee to raise concerns about the proposed legislation. We must protect collective bargaining and the right to strike.
Thanks to @JZerucelli @EvanLSolomon and Senator Yussuf for inviting the @CTFFCE to talk about AI and its impact on workers.
AI literacy for all Canadian, but especially educators, will be key to navigating this new era of working and learning.
Workers will help shape how AI is built and used in Canada.
Today I joined the inaugural AI and Labour Advisory Council meeting with Minister Evan Solomon and Senator Hassan Yussuff.
We talked skills training, worker supports, and what AI means for Canada's future.
We will always stand with Canada's workers.
Noticing more and more that the disdain that Conservatives have for the media is getting more and more mainstream.
Unfortunately it looks like the OLO's Speaking Points are taking root.
In the span of a week we have seen Danielle Smith and Pierre Poilievre attempt to place blame on immigrants for deteriorating services that Canadians have access to.
This form of populism sucks.
If you want high quality services - tax the richest Canadians and fund them.
In 24 hours Poilievre had to distance himself from one of his most prominent news-making MPs then he turns around and then another MP crosses the floor.
I was assured by a lot of conservative commentators that his 87% review grade meant everything was perfect for the CPC.

If you're losing Lorne Gunter, you're losing the next election too.

Proudly condemning a program that feeds children.
Really amazing work from one of the rising stars of the Conservative Party of Canada.
The federal government wants to be your daddy and buy your kids' lunch.
The federal government should instead be building an economy where you can afford to buy your own kids' lunch.
Tell me what you think: restorethenorth.ca/keepfight…
Remember how everyone dunked on @DimitrisSoudas talking about discontent in the Conservative Party of Canada and weeks later we see someone leave the party citing leadership styles. 🤐
A real disappointing one for us.
Still waiting to hear something from @PattyHajdu's office about the loan forgiveness for teachers that was committed to.
The CTF/FCE is happy to see the National School Food Program permanent in #Budget2025. 🎉
But we are concerned that there is little to make people living in 🇨🇦 excited for the future.
Innovation and investments are great, but they should be key to a country that works for Canadians with expansions on programming and services – not cuts.

The CTF/FCE is calling on our members to sign this email asking the Minister of Jobs and Families why they haven't done anything regarding student loan forgiveness for teachers that they promised back in SPRING 2024.
Please sign.

#BREAKING: Air Canada union says flight attendants will continue strike, defy government ctvnews.ca/business/article/…
Really disappointing to see the federal government strip away the collective bargaining rights of Air Canada flight attendants. Disruptive action is meant to be disruptive.
While he doesn't say it word for word, whenever Jim drops a "facts not feelings" anlysis to shut down right-wing talking points it's always a breath of fresh aid.
Something tells me Alberta separatism isn't based on facts and very much based on feelings.
Head-scratcher. We've been in a holding pattern since December and we're all waiting with bated breath to have this government do meaningful work.
We also have to assume that the Min. of Fin. was kept in his role to bring continuity to the portfolio. No excuse really.
