It’s sad that a turning circle appears to be more important than protecting drivers from redundancy.

Great to see the Mayor of Greater Manchester experiencing the MAXiCab BEV first-hand.
Thank you to everyone continuing to champion choice, accessibility and British manufacturing. 🇬🇧⚡️
The MAXiCab provides 30% more space for wheelchair users and is tested to safely secure up to 150kg wheelchairs, versus just 85kg in current London taxis. What's more important: giving disabled passengers safer, more accessible transport, or being able to turn in 8.535 metres? ♿️
Black cab decline sparks travel fears among 96% of young wheelchair users, new survey finds ⚠️⬇️

Delighted to see LEVC committed to developing a new purpose-built taxi. Healthy competition drives innovation, increases choice for drivers, and delivers better vehicles for passengers.
With a range of over 200 miles, the fully electric MAXiCab charges from 10% to 80% in approximately 29 minutes using a 125 kW DC fast charger. For drivers, that means less time charging, more time earning, and the confidence to complete a full day's work on a single charge. ⚡️
The Ford MAXiCab is now the only black hackney carriage taxi with GB Type Approval currently being manufactured in the UK. Fact.
Drivers need certainty. Licensing authorities need choice. Passengers deserve both.

The only alternative some people seem to be offering up is the hope that another suitable vehicle may appear at some point in the future, despite very little evidence that's about to happen. Even is it does, like the MAXiCab, any new vehicle would be based on a shared platform.

Nice to see Kamal from Unite chatting to @CabdirectLondon
Peter Facenna today in the Feeder Park regarding the Ford Maxicab.
Why do some drivers think they should decide what vehicle everyone else can use? Surely every driver is capable of making up their own mind. If a vehicle isn't right for you, don't choose it. But why try to take that choice away from others? What are these drivers so afraid of?
It’s already very busy this morning. Please pop over and say hello if you’re in the area. We’d love to talk to you about the MAXiCab. 🤝
Delighted to be sponsoring such a prestigious event.

So, if it’s not the MAXiCab by way of TfL relaxing the turning circle rule, what comes next for London if the TX is no longer being produced?
Lots of opinions about our taxi but very few alternative ideas being put forward.
If only there was a new taxi available that’s genuinely zero emission 100% of the time, that’s 20% more accessible that the current fleet, and that’s tested to safely carry 150kg wheelchairs versus the 85kg the current fleet is tested to. 🤷🏻

The job needs this vehicle. The txe doesn’t look like the tx4. Hysterical cabbies wetting themselves over the TC ffs..no other vehicle is being produced.
