He also underscored the #AswanForum as a multilateral platform for dialogue, shared expertise and collective action, helping turn emerging threats to peace and security into shared, sustainable responses.

That approach drives CCCPA’s flagship PRELT programme on Prevention of Extremism Leading to Terrorism. Since 2016: 📚 17 training courses 👥 320 local and community leaders 🌍 10 countries across Africa and the Arab world

On the panel on conflicts, counterterrorism and maritime security, Amb. Seif Kandeel, CCCPA Director-General, called for comprehensive approaches that build the capacity of states and communities and tackle the root causes of extremism, in the Sahel and across Africa.

Hélène Le Gal, Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa at @eu_eeas, also delivered a keynote address at the opening session.

His call: comprehensive approaches that pair security measures with development solutions to tackle the root causes of instability. Egypt’s case in point: StREAM, the Suez and Red Sea Initiative for Economic and Maritime Development, covering the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Opening the forum, Amb. Mohamed Aboubakr, Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, stressed that the Egypt–EU strategic partnership matters more amid the growing disruptions around the globe.
