Great to talk to @rafaelbehr for this piece on how public deliberation could help tackle morally & politically complex decisions, like whether to legislate in support of assisted dying at end of life.

It increasingly feels like there's an opportunity for Labour to turn its missions for government into *national missions* that large sections of the public feel part of.
A short piece on what they've done, why it's not enough, & the change needed:

Sad to be leaving @involveUK, but excited to join @AdvocacyAcademy full-time, as I’ve been a huge fan of for years!

Last year I was commissioned by the UK ministry of housing to write a report on the demand side-drivers of the housing affordability crisis.
After some election-related delays, here it is. (1/13)

In 1999, there was a big shift to evidence-based policy making, catalysed by the Modernising Government White Paper.
We are calling for a similar shift across govt in 2024 - to put *both* citizens & evidence at the heart of how policy is made.
And now is the time to do it!
