When I was a kid, my mom couldn’t afford to send me to summer camp.
Last week, Mayor Arulampalam and I welcomed hundreds of Hartford kids to @CampCourant.
This place has been operating for more than 130 years because it's built on a simple idea: every child deserves a safe place to learn, play, and just be a kid during the summer.
No kid should be priced out of that experience.

What a day at Camp today! Thank you to @ChrisMurphyCT and @GovNedLamont for coming to Camp for this exciting announcement!
I was at @CampCourant today with @GovNedLamont to unveil my new bill to get thousands more low income kids into summer camps and programs.
New data shows that less than 4 in 10 low income kids attend any kid of quality summer program. Outrageous.
Showing love to our FAVORITE teams in the best way we know how! @UConnHuskies, @UConnHuskyAD, @UConnFootball, @UConnWBB, @UConn, how’d we do for our first try?
See you back in Hartford before you know it 👀
The beautiful weather in Hartford this week is the perfect reminder that summer is fast approaching, and that means so is summer camp! Parents and guardians, registration for Camp is LIVE - click the link below to get started!

Mayor Bronin has been an outstanding friend and supporter of Camp far beyond his time in office. While this will be his last opening day as our mayor, we hope to continue to see him here, spending time with our city’s amazing children.
Thank you, Mr. Mayor - for everything!
First of the 750 Hartford campers arriving for a summer of outdoor learning & fun at @CampCourant this morning! Love this place.
