As usual, Trump says the quiet part out loud. His control of a supposedly independent super PAC is a blatant violation of law. @thetrevorpotter and I explain:

In an attempt to undermine the 2026 midterm election results, Trump's DOJ filed an unfounded lawsuit just weeks before Election Day to try to block California from counting over 20k+ ballots. We're taking legal action. Here's what to know.

Here’s a portion of an interview I did recently with veteran journalist @LesleyRStahl of @60Minutes about the unprecedented and alarming efforts by the Trump administration to unlawfully interfere with our elections. 1/
Trevor Potter, an election lawyer who worked on several Republican presidential campaigns and now runs the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center, explains why some states are pushing back against growing federal actions on elections.
"In all the years I've been involved with elections, it has traditionally been the Republicans who have said, 'We don't want too much federal involvement,'” he says. “That reflects I think fairly the constitutional structure, where the states are in charge of elections."
A top Justice Department official told 60 Minutes that the government’s efforts “sends the message to citizens that the federal government takes the integrity of our elections seriously.”
