This horrific attack is yet another reminder of the concerns surrounding violent crime and public safety in Canada.
I have little doubt that when these perpetrators are caught, investigators will find that these guns were unlawfully owned.
Under Carney, we have yet to see meaningful change in the direction established under Trudeau.
Self-defence and failed Liberal/NDP Gun-Control policies targeting the wrong people are no longer a conversation the government and Canadians can afford to ignore.
If even a high-profile family like this can fall victim to such a horrific attack, it should be a wake-up call to every single Canadian: none of us are beyond the reach of this new wave of violent crime. Canada has changed. The threats we face today demand a different mindset about personal safety and self-defence.

These 'gun discharge' incidents have become a near-daily occurrence, with little explanation beyond “no damage, nobody injured.” Are they shooting into the sky? Because what goes up must come down.
And when caught, these individuals are routinely found in possession of unlawfully held firearms.
Meanwhile, we are now 6 years, 5 months, 4 weeks, and 1 day into bans and restrictions that have kept legal owners from taking their lawfully owned firearms into the woods or to the range, while our Western shooters, historical firearms enthusiasts, and national shooting teams remain in limbo under new Liberal legislation.
Ban after ban on lawful owners, but criminals are caught armed to the teeth. every. single. day.

Deer hunting season begins in Ontario next week. The SKS is a practical, widely accepted hunting rifle that has long been valued by hunters, particularly within First Nations communities, where it remains a popular and trusted choice. Good luck and stay safe. @CanadasNFA
It's hard not to look at the conclusion of the Innisfil home invasion investigation in the context of today's horrifying news out of Toronto's Bridle Path.
Another day, another home invasion, and in the case of Bridle Path, another defenceless family terrorized by criminals with illegally acquired guns.
In the famous words of the 'anti-gun' lobby: "If it saves just one life...". Yeah, well, does that work both ways?
This is not the Canada I remember from my youth.

Not sure if this is a 'win' for home defence or not...
It's a complicated case, but certainly an interesting one for those of you interested in the legal side of firearms and self-defence.

More hoops for Canadian firearms owners, courtesy of a Carney government happy to let bureaucrats pile on red tape.
Now, even black powder enthusiasts, antique firearm owners, and historical reenactors may face more hurdles just to pursue their legitimate interests. More bureaucracy, more restrictions, and more government pretending it's accomplishing something.

The RCMP released this photograph of its officers training, and we would be remiss if we didn't offer a little friendly advice: perhaps someone should go over the fundamentals of pistol handling with this officer.
We'd suggest a civilian RPAL course, but there's just one problem: the Liberals' handgun freeze. Funny how the government can make it harder for ordinary Canadians to access handgun training while the people entrusted with enforcing firearms laws are the ones making headlines for their "technique".

Replying to @CanadasNFA @GaryMauser
Dr. Gary Mauser would be an excellent choice for a seat on the Liberal government's Firearms Advisory Committee. Ironically, that is probably why he would never be invited.
Dr. Mauser's research is grounded in established scientific methodology, credible data, and recognized sources. His findings challenge many of the narratives promoted by gun-control advocates, who too often seem more interested in dismissing inconvenient evidence than engaging with it.
A credible advisory committee should welcome rigorous research and differing perspectives, not simply reinforce a predetermined position.
Canadian firearms owners should judge political parties by their actions, not their rhetoric.
While Wab Kinew has made some (extremely) mild criticisms of federal firearms policy, the broader NDP, federally and provincially, has been no ally to our community - including support for significant firearms bans and restrictions.
We will work with any party willing to stand up for lawful firearms owners, but we must be honest about who has - and who has not- done so.
Canadian Firearms Owners, the NDP has not been your friend, and they continue to not be.

3D printing will undoubtedly become THE biggest challenge in the not-so-distant future. It's an unstoppable freight train, yet the Liberals seem more concerned with the goat grazing beside the tracks - The 'scapegoat', that is.

While independent media seems to be more complimentary to home self-defence cases, with this one in particular lauding the "Homeowner, who bravely defended their property", mainstream media seem, at best, a little more vague - at worst, questioning - citing a "physical altercation where a shotgun was discharged".
Funny how the framing changes depending on who you are reading...

So, just to be clear, according to the CBC, the gun-for-hire shootings aren't the fault of sport shooters, hunters or collectors -
But if you make it to paragraph three, apparently it's Donald Trump and Netanyahu's fault.
Maybe the Liberals should pass legislation banning them from owning guns. Should have about the same effect...

A Vancouver criminal outs himself by being dressed like a Teletubbie on a hot summer day.
The real question is: where did the handgun come from?
The Liberals banned handgun sales and transfers in 2022. Even before that, legal handgun ownership was subject to stringent regulations.
So, where did this one come from? Pretty hard to believe it was legally purchased prior to 2022 and monitored since.
Funny how the people who follow the rules are the ones who get buried, while the criminals just seem to 'find a way'.

Banned from possessing guns? Yep.
Got his hands on another gun within 48 hours of being caught with a gun? And a banned handgun to boot? How?!
Oh, right. Criminals don't follow the law.
That's kind of what makes them criminals.
