Lately I’ve fallen so hard for Carney that I kiss his photo before bed and wake up whispering thank God we have Carney. Everything he does is perfect, down to the last decimal. Housing, hospitals, power bills, immigration. All exactly as they should be. Canadians sleep like babies now. Zero worries. Carney’s got it all under control. Truly, we should give thanks every single day for this leadership.

I’m a lifelong British Columbian and a proud Canadian. We will never, ever, EVER be the 51st state. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 But Eby’s parody-like performance of BC pride contrasts sharply with his lamenting of BC as a “colonial mistake” & Canada Day as “difficult for many.” He’s a Premier whose government says the very phrase “British Columbians” is exclusionary. Whose ministers openly deride our citizens as “settlers,” “colonizers” & “uninvited guests.” Whose curriculum teaches our kids to “develop mindsets of cultural humility.” Whose government is hellbent on tearing down our history, “decolonizing” our museums, undermining our democracy, jeopardizing our sovereignty, killing our prosperity and giving our parks & public lands away. Call me cynical, but Eby’s caricature of Canadian patriotism looks about as authentic on him as that red plaid coat.
