You don’t get to walk away from your own brain. It’s a mental illness that steals time. People live their lives while you spend hours trying to convince yourself you’re not the monster your emotions make you feel like. They move on. You replay the same conversations, the same tone, the same look, over and over until you can’t breathe. You love people like it’s a full-time job. You memorize their patterns, their moods, their silences. You notice every shift before they even realize they’ve changed. But when they pull away, you still blame yourself. Every. Single. Time. You don’t want chaos. You want safety. But your nervous system doesn’t know what safety is. So when something feels calm, your brain panics. When someone loves you, you wonder when it’ll end.
