Caprus' nostrils flare for a moment. He sighs a dreamy sigh.
"I smell cardamom... which means they probably have all sorts of chai. Savory treats, too, I'll bet. I definitely wouldn't pass up on it. Where I'm from, those kind of spices were pretty rare."
Well, you've hung out with Raphael, at least. Can't speak for others like him. I don't actually know that many Devils - more than most, I'd imagine, but still not many.
You're too kind...
Got any favorite breakfast nooks? The Blushing Mermaid's got a fantastic corned beef hash.
"Bards using drums isn't that common - a real shame, I think. Then again, I usually end up tapping the sides of other things rather than using both hands for percussion. That's generally for after the gig."
He winks, a soft giggle following.
"So! You and Raph. How'd you meet?"
Replying to @CaprusCapricius
"That's quite the journey you went on together then," he tilts his head a little. "My first instrument was a drum, if I remember correctly, though what became of it, I couldn't say. Though presently my current one is neatly stored away. Must dig it out before I lose practice."
"Ah, a great question. Maryden - that's her name - wasn't my first instrument. But she ๐ธ๐ข๐ด what I was playing when I first became a Bard. Later, when I left, she was a parting gift, along with the others in my Bag of Holding. I've got three in there right now, actually."

"There is a lot to be said about the power of music, rhythm, movement, history, connection," he nods, smiling warmly; he is obviously very much in agreement. "Has the guitar always been your favoured instrument, or did you find it later?"
You're way more tolerant than most nobles, Syl'varis, I'll give you that. And I'm definitely not complaining.
I do like Haarlep. The guy is hilarious. A lot colder to the touch than I thought he'd be, but when we cuddle, I ๐ข๐ฎ overheated...
"They taught me a lot," he admits, eyes nostalgic "the magic came to me while they'd taken me in, for starters. It was a song just like this. 'It is fated', they'd say. Fate can be funny sometimes."
Caprus grins. "The more moxie in the maestro, the more magic in the music."
Replying to @CaprusCapricius
"If that's the sort of spirit that they are invoking into their songs alone, then I have absolutely no doubt that they are doing just fine. You do their passion great justice."
He inhales then sighs happily. "I do enjoy a tune that gets the blood pumping."
She seems genuinely eager, and Caprus isn't about to slow her down.
"My advice? Go to what you think smells the best first. Follow your nose. Personally, I'd try the street stands. They only come out seasonally, the taverns are there year-round."
Caprus grins, clearly quite proud of the reaction he gets from Sebastian. His tail wags at the other's enthusiasm.
"I'm actually a really talented spellcaster," he admits "though I prefer to keep people safe and healthy with it rather than anything too crazy. I also juggle!"
Fair enough. You'd know him better than me anyway. He was here when you met your husband, yeah? I can't imagine it wasn't at least a ๐ญ๐ช๐ต๐ต๐ญ๐ฆ awkward...
Aw, just because he's what he is doesn't mean he can't be good with kids.
A bad influence, sure, but we're in Hell, aren't we? There are definitely worse things to tempt kids to do than steal shredded cheese from the kitchen.
I do appreciate the confidence.
Caprus watches Drace sway as he plays, when his eyes aren't closed in his own enjoyment of the tune.
When the man claps, he gives a theatric little half-bow while still seated.
"A lively bunch, those guys," he muses fondly "I hope they're doing alright. No, I'm sure they are."

He doesn't even try to fight the urge to tap his foot, a smile spreading across his lips. He enjoys the rhythm and movement to it, swaying a little and closing his eyes to properly listen. He inhales slowly, smile widening as the music flows through him. It's not completely ~
[Something between a fingerstyle flamenco and a strummed dabke beat, leaning Romani but not entirely clockable as belonging to any one real-world culture. Either way, it's a bop, and his performance check is appropriate for a level 16 Bard]
"Something I haven't played in a while," he repeats, slower, thoughtful. He brings his guitar up onto his thigh.
"Speaking of the Vistani, they have plenty of hits. A shame the average Barovian doesn't like 'em. This one in particular is great to dance to." ยป

"Always," he nods his head, glad Caprus understands. On the question of music he looks thoughtful, considering it before he shakes his head. "Dealer's choice. Play me something that you want to play, something that you haven't played in a while."
Caprus takes the flower in his hand delicately, looking to Sebastian with a grin.
"It's the thought that counts! It's so sweet of you to think of me. Here..."
Waving his hand over the wilted bloom, it slowly morphs back to life.
"Druidcraft. Learned it from a witch."
He hands over a small flower; it was wilted and missing a few petals.
"I found this and wanted to give it to you... sorry, I think I ended up crushing it in my pocket." @CaprusCapricius
"Completely understand," he assures. Privacy is of course essential in a business like this, in more ways than one.
"Did you have a favorite they play around here? I could always play something from Barovia, but those tend to be a bit on the depressing side unless it's Vistani."
Replying to @CaprusCapricius
"Oh can you now?" he chuckles, nodding his head. "Provided the room isn't in use, then you may be welcome to it. Exception being when the room is locked down. There are some times when privacy is essential, I am sure you understand. And, as for the playing, I am the one who ~
Caprus has never had a festival friend before. His tail wags at the thought.
"I'd love to show you around! There's a carnival outside of Wyrm's Crossing at the old fairgrounds, and before that, there's a big party in the square. You can almost smell the food from here..."
Despite it? I can only imagine...
No windows, got it. Not to worry. Should be able to keep a baby's attention with a few Cantrips. Dancing Lights hasn't failed me yet! (Then again, I've never tried using it like this before.)
He reciprocates the look, flashing a wink. They got along just fine.
"He's really come out of his shell lately. I even got him playing music, had no idea he was a violinist. Small world."
Caprus glances at the bottle and nods.
"Hells yeah. You got an opener?"
Hm? Wha-- ah. Right.
I'm not what I look like. To put it very simply, I'm stuck in the body of a Devil that died. I'm not the least bit evil.
Shittiest Devil you'll ever meet, actually, by Devil standards. Can't speak for the rest of them and their "friendliness".
