I have a bet with @canonlawyered that we can get five new paid pillar subscriptions today. Curmudgeon that he is, he thinks we can't.
Prove him wrong here:

I don’t know how to prove it, but I feel like my daughter’s Rowlet incident caused this.

Highlight of the morning: seeing a bald eagle swoop down and fly by my car.
He was mainly going for the dead squirrel on the road, but still. I like to think he wanted to say hi.

ALT JOKE-OGRAPHY: In this cartoon, a curious Pharisee asks Jesus what He thinks the first of all God's commandments is. By "first," the Pharisee clearly means "foremost" or "most important," but Jesus jokes and answers with the actual first commandment ever spoken to mankind, which is when God tells the first man, Adam, not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden (i.e. "Don't eat that"). It's funny that God's first recorded commandment to a human is the same thing we have to yell at infants.

If you've ever wanted to see @jdflynn auctioneer, now's your chance. Use code "PILLAR" to sit with other listeners, in a good way. Or just donate to help offset the cost of bringing him here, and fund kids getting a Catholic education!

Ok, so in February I'll be auctioneer for a cool parish gala in the Twin Cities.
And the pastor, @BackwardsFeet, wants to set aside a table or two for Pillar people. After the gala, we can hit a dive bar together.
But you gotta buy a ticket. Use code PILLAR when you do.

Btw I've received confirmation from @AscensionPress that they'll be switching over to the new translation on optional-use date of Ash Wednesday 2027, not the mandatory-use date in 2028.
