Thank you to the @FLChamber for convening these important discussions.

I appreciated the opportunity to present with @YoppToTheTop at @EducationFL's Board of Education meeting today to discuss Florida's continued expansion of registered apprenticeships. We shared how education, workforce, and industry partners are working together toward Florida's goal of 50,000 active apprentices by 2030 and highlighted the important role local workforce boards and apprenticeship navigators play in connecting more Floridians to earn-while-you-learn career pathways. Great news for Florida's workforce system.
The @USDOL has approved Florida's latest WIOA waiver requests, providing valuable flexibility to strengthen service delivery and increase opportunities for jobseekers, workers, and businesses statewide. The approved waivers support innovative approaches to training, employment retention and youth workforce programs, helping Florida continue to build a responsive, business-driven workforce system.
The approval comes as the U.S. Department of Labor moves forward with changes to the Statistical Adjustment Model (SAM), an issue Florida helped bring to the forefront and reflecting that state’s continued leadership in shaping workforce policies that better serve states, employers, and workers.
CareerSource Florida appreciates the collaboration of our state and local workforce partners who contributed to this effort. Together, we remain focused on connecting Floridians to opportunity and helping businesses access the talent they need to grow.
Read the approved waiver and learn more about how these flexibilities will strengthen workforce services for Floridians and businesses statewide at Signed-FL-2026-USDOL-Waiver-Approval-Governor-Letter.pdf
