I voted for this - Nithya is not a candidate that we currently have the power to move towards our positions. I voted against the alternative resolution for one reason: this clause in it brings us much closer to a split at a time when our org is at its strongest ⤵️

The resolution on potential expulsion (which passed 15-12) calls on Raman to meet with DSA-LA leaders by Nov. 30 to discuss her position on BDS.
If she does not affirm her support for BDS and sign on to DSA's campaign to stop weapons from being transferred to Israel through LAX by Jan. 1, then the NPC will begin a disciplinary process that could end in her expulsion from DSA. docs.google.com/document/d/1…
Because of the efforts of Palestinians and the Palestine solidarity movement and the actions of the Israeli government, its military, and settlers, a solid majority of Americans are now opposed to our government's policy of support for Israel. (polls from IMEU)
All of the ultra-rich and most powerful politicians are in favor of continued support for Israel. The abolitionists fighting slavery found themselves in a similar position. We cannot stop increasing authoritarianism at home without winning an end to support for genocide abroad.

Pictured is Palestinian-American Loui Ridi raising an American flag over his home in the West Bank that is surrounded by settlers and the IDF.
In the last three years, the Palestinian struggle for self-determination has become a global freedom struggle for democracy.
Israel is the Confederacy.
Self-interest will continue to lead Americans to conclude that the U.S. government’s relationship with Israel must end. Passive supermajority public opinion can only be turned into majoritarian political power through organizing.

Who would you vote for: a Dem socialist for Medicare for All, ending Israel aid, and abolishing ICE — or a conservative Republican for tax cuts, repealing Obamacare, and banning most abortions?
🌹 Dem Socialist: 52%
🔴 Conservative GOP: 40%

@CarnationDSA hits the nail on the head here. AOC represents a unique opportunity for expansion of the party surrogate that could unleash socialism as a national phenomenon. If we support the growth of the socialist congressional bloc, we must support DSA endorsement for AOC 2028

We get to choose how we campaign for AOC. We can talk to our friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers about how we can put an end to our money being used to bomb hospitals and schools abroad instead of building and fully funding them here. Full article: shorturl.at/DzrHA

We need an arms embargo and we need Medicare for all. We can push AOC’s presidential campaign toward those ends together. Follow Carnation, sign on to their letter if you’re a member in good standing.
We have the opportunity to lead an inspiring campaign for AOC for president, powered by DSA members, that will engage and grow the base for socialist politics. There is currently no other candidate who is running who a majority of DSA members support who supports an arms embargo.
It was only active organizing by former slaves that transformed the Lincoln presidency into an army against the Confederacy. We have an opportunity to revolutionize our federal government and finish Reconstruction to end Israeli apartheid.
If you are not yet a DSA member and are excited by this vision, you should join DSA at dsausa.org/join. If you are a DSA member and want to support a DSA for AOC for an Arms Embargo and Medicare for All campaign, click here: forms.gle/FiL2Lfvk4133t6pE7

BREAKING: Melat Kiros has won the Democratic primary in Colorado’s 1st district.
The democratic socialist has unseated the district’s 29-year incumbent by running on Medicare for All, abolishing ICE, ending forever wars and more.

Our tax dollars should fund programs like universal childcare that ease the affordability crisis.
Instead, our leaders waste billions arming wars and genocide abroad that most Americans want no part of.
We need an arms embargo and more elected who will fight for one in DC.
