In the mile I am very interested in RHETORICAL and DETERMINISTIC. Yes NOTABLE SPEECH. Those three for me in some way or form.
7th: Call me crazy but I think STELLIFY can win this. She had trouble last year. This time she starts outside, should get a clear run to lead or close.
5th: BACIO looks good. But if he’s going to get caught it’s by SORRENTO SKY, who is a new horse after gelding. I will win something if either of them win. Also respect: Cy Fair - Possiblemente - Comanche Brave - Starlust
4th: Ways and Means fastest, but never won shipping. Also sometimes these big fields punish inside posts at 7F. I’ll take KILWIN, who will stay out of trouble and is a serious closer.
BC-day picks: 1st: I like the Walden firster BOURBON NEAT. 48 gates, and trainer knows how to win FTS at 7F, and is good with 2YOs. At 8-1 I want something on this horse.
9th: I like SALAHUDIN and AMERICAN HISTORY equally. I think HUGHES is going to bounce. If either they improve, that should be enough. I will have an exacta box. Good luck today!
7th: MANUKA HONEY is 10-1 and might go higher. I haven’t seen anyone pick her (granted I have been out of the country). She keeps improving and should love 2 turns, her dam was fast routing. Works are fantastic. Price play. I will also have a smaller double into DOMAIN EXPANSION.
6th: HARPER’S CORNER - could be my play of the day. Fast and special. Forgive the last, she was due for an off race. Today peak effort. I’ll be doing a nice double into….
Few picks today: 3rd: Love OSCAR CHEER at 12-1 ML. Not sure he will go that high. He had lots of trouble in debut, then a good trip in last, where he made a rail run, quickened in the stretch, and galloped out well. He looks to have some talent.
In Belmont 3rd - 2 TWICE THE FUN has great turf breeding - a fast gate work - and Riley Mott is 3/12 with first time turf sprinters. Modest win bet beckons at 14-1.
Going to Belmont today (and I still need one ticket for a friend, please reach out!). I am very interested in one horse due to multiple angles. In the 6th THE PADDOCK PASTOR. This horse recently eclipsed his 3YO top just slightly. In his last, he got a rail trip and won well. 1/6
I think Amelia and Johnny V are going to score today. I will have some money on the maiden. If she wins I will cash. If not, I will make a large wager on THE PADDOCK PASTOR. Either way I am betting the Pastor! 6/6
Amelia is only 1/47 with first-timers. So that gives some hesitation. But again, they are getting closer with that 2nd at 14-1 in July. And that was with a 2YO first-timer. 5/6
Today Amelia and Johnny V team up twice. With the Paddock Prince and in the 2nd with first-timer MOM’S ON BREAK. This horse looks interesting because its dam and siblings ran fast as 2YOs. AND the horse has a 48.1 gate work. Pop at 10-1 ML? Maybe. 4/6
She’s got to give him a good mount one of these days, right? So far trainer/jock are 1/28. And the win was with a favorite. But they also teamed up to get 2nd with a first-timer in July at 14-1. 3/6
Today the waters are a little deeper, but I think he runs a lifetime best. I like this horse purely from a figure POV. But then I noticed Johnny V is riding. He was Todd Pletcher’s goto for a long time, and the trainer, Amelia Green, was Todd’s assistant. 2/6
