So! RQ Singapore! What a weekend!
This was my first RQ, both as an attendee and a caster, and I want to thank @RiftboundRamble and @DimiccoDiana for the opportunity right off the bat- It really was the greatest opportunity I've had in my career.
Also a massive thanks to @LHP64D, my LCP brother, for being right there on the mic, and particularly on the Saturday as I started getting sick as a dog, for really carrying the duo, you're a homie, and we're gonna do great things together.
The event was amazing, everyone I met was brilliant, kind and welcoming. People that I thought would be sick of talking to people (rightfully!) were always up for a chat, and to explain some deck concepts, and to give me rundowns on interactions. It was truly humbling to sit around, both backstage and just at the competition tables and just chat with some of the games absolute best and just chat like friends.
On the cast itself? It was my first time casting a TCG (Hearthstone in 2017 doesnt count...), and I was worried about moving over from PbPing League of Legends, which wants frenetic, high octane casting, to a TCG environment, which calls for a much lower key. That said, I think we handled it well. Me and Logan immediately shared a similar vision of what the cast *should* look like, and we executed on that pretty well, I think. There were obviously some mistakes, misidentifying a couple of cards in trashes/hands (its honestly harder than you'd think when you only get flashes of them sometimes, but still, can do better!), but overall, I was really happy with it.
Singapore is a hell of a city too, the food, the people, everything was amazing, and I wish I'd had another week to explore. Aside from the heat, much too hot!
Sadly, I did get *really* sick by the end of the event, I was just run down. It leads me into my big promise if I'm added to the circuit of casters, which I hope I am!
I gotta lose weight. It's obvious when I'm on camera, and it's a massive impediment to the job, so if you see me doing content, or just see me around at Riftbound events, feel free to ask me how its going, and I'm always open for suggestions and help. Health has never been easy for me, I've always been big, but the last 5 or so years has been particularly bad, but no more.
Onwards and upwards, I cannot wait to cover more Riftbound, and be at more RQ's, whether I be casting or competing, I'll see you at the battlefields!

Seeing some talk about Meta decks etc at nexus nights
Firmly believe it's the stores fault for not controlling for it, plenty of new players come to my local, and yeah pairing into me on Vex or someone else on Riven is a brutal draw, but if you're nice, and take the time to explain things, it's not an experience that kills someone's love for the game.
They shouldn't be pairing into it all night, the seeding should see them sorted out. If your store is truly all meta sharks, the store needs to do something to incentivise off meta play

I dont really understand the anti-ban camp in TCGs. If the card is making the game less fun for the overwhelming majority whats the..downside?

Riftbound prizing is clearly an issue, with ID's and scoops against people still in best of contention really going crazy. What if instead of a plated metal card, you won something else? It could be like a gorilla but hes super intelligent with a bubble shield to beat aoe slop

As you've written here and without knowing what the judges have done in ther internal investigation. You have admitted to telling the nasus player that their best of contender has lost and therefore confirmed him as best of winner if he draws.
Riftbound Melbourne Showdown
Unfortunately I did not win the best of poppy in the showdown even tho I was the best of poppy on the day and they took it away from me.
Story time.
Going into day 2 of the showdown in Melbourne I was 2nd in the hunt for the best of poppy I went and found most of the poppy’s that where in contention and wished them best of luck.
When the day finished I checked the results and I was on top and went and celebrated with my friends.
Last game of the day I played against the other poppy ( let’s say poppy 2)that was in contention and next to me was the another poppy ( let’s say poppy 3)as well that was in contention. I won 2-0 so I’m pretty much on top.
The other ( poppy 3) player was versing a nasus which he was in contention for the best of Nasus. After we finished all 4 of us we where kinda chatting along and watching the game while the 2 where playing( nasus vs poppy)The Nasus player asked the poppy(3) “are you in contention” which she stated I don’t think so cause this guy won(me)and he is above me.
I replied to Poppy(3) saying actually you were above me before this game started I’m second.
After their game 2 ( 1-1) the nasus player asked in general hey has the other nasus won which I said “ I think he lost “.
They finished their game and the result was a draw. After the game I said to all the poppy’s good efforts it was a tight race. And left the table
The poppy(3)that drew to the Nasus started crying and complaining to the judges that the Nasus slow played on purpose so he can win the best off. ( meanwhile they draw so both didint get it).After that didint work she stated that I convinced the Nasus to try harder and play and win so poppy(3) doesn’t get the best off poppy.
After a while they called the Nasus player up on where the judges where sitting and asked him if he knew me which he stated “ no “. After a while the same head judge came and grabbed me and stated that what I did was wrong and they will give me a game loss and the poppy(3)a game win.
After more back and forth another stuff member came ( was wearing purple shirt saying staff ) and told me that after talking to the head judges and all the parties they will give me a game loss and the Nasus a game loss too.
Ps: I was not gonna make a big tweet about it until I heard the same person that “ won “ the best off poppy - poppy(3)saying to her friends “ im happy that I won it and the other guy is malding”
Ps2: The same poppy tried to convince a riven player in round 7 to concede which he refused.
PS3: The same poppy player was friends with a lot of judges and head judges and they were celebrating when she won her round 8 matchup against a LILLIA.
PS4: During my last mirror matchup I had consistently a judge sitting watching our game and also I had a judge come and check my sideboard and not check the opponent’s sideboard poppy(2).( if I’m not mistaken that judge was friends with the Poppy(3)as well )
Ps5: The Poppy(2) that I defeated towards the end asked the head judges “ I get that you gave him a game loss but why did you give the Nasus a game loss too ?” And the same head judge replied “it’s done now and you can email UVS if you have a complaint but i have been judge for 10 years and nothing happens”
Anyways just wanted to share that information because we can’t have competitive players and judges being good friends makes everything so tricky and unfair. I never refused saying to the nasus player “ I think the other nasus lost”.
i really like the RC change. Timing is atrocious but I suggested basically the exact system when I was talking to people in Singapore. Highest level of competition you should be on the 50 cards that give you the highest chance to win the event, nothing else.
Only addendum I've seen that I do really agree with is that if you make top 58 AND are best of, you get dibs.
