"average person understands concept of infinity" actualy just statistical error. average person understands finite sets only. Cantor Georg, who lived in 19th century Saxony and understood infinitely many types of infinity, was an outlier adn should not have been counted

This Thursday, the 15th of August, we have a by-election in Hillrise.
Vote for Shreya Nanda, the Labour candidate, for:
🦺 Safer public spaces
🏥Support for the NHS and the Whittington Hospital
🏘️Clear action on more affordable and well maintained housing
Labour may have won a majority, but this one guy wrote a letter accusing Keir Starmer of being a lizardman. How will the government resolve this?

So that's about it. We had an absolute blast at #emfcamp.
The puzzles are now all sleeping in storage and the paperclips are all filed away, so it's time for us to wrap up...

The other funny thing is how dumb even the military component of national service is? "Cyber" (does GCHQ really need thousands of unskilled teenagers), and then procurement and logistics (i.e. just cheap labour for non-combat roles).
A government minister emphasizing that the Conservative government policy on national service is diametrically opposed to the Conservative party policy.
Replying to @BelTel @AllisonMorris1
It’s a Conservative Party policy.
The Government’s policy was set out on Thursday.

Does feel sort of mad that a Prime Minister who wasn't even a full ranking cabinet minister at the time of the 2019 election & is 20 points behind in the polls just gets to cancel the country's largest infrastructure project, which his party's manifesto committed to completing

In response to Spain's recognition of a Palestinian state and the antisemitic call by Spain's Deputy Prime Minister to not just recognize a Palestinian state but to 'liberate Palestine from the river to the sea,' I have decided to sever the connection between Spain's representation in Israel and the Palestinians, and to prohibit the Spanish consulate in Jerusalem from providing services to Palestinians from the West Bank. If this ignorant, hate-filled individual wants to understand what radical Islam truly seeks, she should study the 700 years of Islamic rule in Al-Andalus—today's Spain.

Lol this is an insane thing to say.

I would much rather the UK were not a monarchy; and, failing that, I would rather it were a monarchy that explicitly dispensed with the fictions of the monarch's supposed authority.
Nevertheless, it is widely understood that the monarchy is a symbol for the state.
No ethnically homogenous* country has ever voted for a left-of-centre government, that's just a fact
(Not that the UK is that by any plausible standard)

Does anyone apart from Beth Rigby want or care about Starmer ruling out a deal with the Lib Dems?
