Economy Minister Dr @CArchibald_SF has met @St_Malachys and @CatalystNI_ to hear more about their plans for the future of the school’s Digital Hub.
The Minister recently visited the Hub and seen first-hand how it is serving the local community and developing the digital skills of young people for their learning, life skills and future careers.
The Minister said: “Software and digital skills are required across multiple sectors of the economy. Recognising the importance of these skills, my Department developed a range of sectoral action plans for seven of the innovative and productive parts of the local economy, followed soon after by the launch of the Digital Skills Action Plan, which seeks to develop the pipeline of skills for this sector. We need to increase the flow of young people to opt for a career in the digital sector and highlight high earning potential and the opportunities available. I commend St Malachy’s and Catalyst for their collaboration for this important area for our economic development.”

Not everyone sees it yet. That’s fine.
The ones who do, they’re already building.
At Catalyst, we believe AI isn’t just a tool. It’s a turning point. And Northern Ireland has the chance to leap, not catch up. That’s why we’re launching something new.
Not a tech showcase.
Not a startup hype machine.
A movement.
We call it 'Hack the Future', and we’re starting with a Hackathon spread over 2 evenings this July 23rd-24th at Catalyst Belfast.
To the builders, the dreamers, the risk takers, the prototype scribblers and weekend coders. The ones asking better questions, this one is for you.
Let's get together and hack the future with AI!
