I posted this in 2022 in response to chaos and 'mayhem' - in the world and online... Whether vaccine passports or digital ID... Hoping we can achieve peace, freedom, mutual respect and dialogue. ✨

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.
Anyone remember M.C.Hammer from the 90s?

The male Mandarin is rightly lauded as a stunning duck, but I think the female has a special charm of her own, don't you agree? 😍🦆😊

Fruit trees benefit all sorts of wildlife, including bees, bats and birds. But around two thirds of UK orchards have been lost since 1960. Planting an apple tree in your garden or community can really help to boost biodiversity.

RFK junior is carrying out a study into the effect of EMF on the human body.
If this study is conducted properly and the results impartially reported they will shock many and ask some questions which will challenge powerful vested interests.
We will see.

HHS is examining what electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency radiation may mean for human health—and we want to hear from you.
If you or someone in your family has experienced a health effect you believe may be associated with EMF or RF exposure, share your experience. We also welcome research, clinical observations, data, and other evidence that can help us identify what we know, what we still need to learn, and where federal research should go next.

Intelligence must draw on memory. The mind must not simply compile data — as an algorithm now does more quickly than we can — but recall lived experiences, which contain depths of meaning that only the human soul can recognize, and connect more deeply with the goodness of these experiences. Everything that is good begins “with the Spirit” and thus possesses a breath, a dynamism and a sense of communion that, once experienced, are engraved upon the heart. vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

In an age dominated by technology, in which efficiency and profit often take precedence, it is so important that we continue to cultivate a spirit of contemplation and allow time and space for beauty. Such an attitude will greatly help humanity, especially young people, to discover the ability of art to uplift and reveal the depths of the human spirit and our openness to the divine. Contemplation presents a marvelous opportunity to encounter the God who is Beauty.

Vividly colourful autumn leaves, berries and wildlife, including a red admiral butterfly and a red squirrel, photographed during my visit to St Andrews Botanic Garden last week. Have a great #Friday everyone!

ALT A collage of four photographs taken at St Andrews Botanic Garden. Left: branches covered in brilliant pink, red, orange and green autumn leaves, with small red berries. Top right: sprays of tiny red berries among green leaves. Bottom centre: a red admiral butterfly with orange, black and white wings spread among pale lilac asters with yellow centres. Bottom right: a red squirrel with tufted ears, reddish-brown fur and a white chest, sitting upright in the grass and looking towards the camera.

💯👍
People are now apparently returning to CDs and DVDs for “the security of knowing they have a physical copy of their fave films & music, free from algorithms, interruptions and vagaries of streaming.” I’ve heard this from my students for a while. Me too.
